I don't think you latched it properly. Watch your video, (zoom in if you can), on the passenger side you see and hear the ride over it's stop and then set itself in the safety position. The same is not true of the drivers side. Look at the difference in latch positions at 07:01.

In all honesty, I do not recall. What you can do is remove one of the bolts and match it up to a drill close in size.

Hey just checking in on how you have liked these coilovers. I am about to. order a set and want to make sure you haven't had any problems with quality or ride quality.
@TheAutomotiveFanatic2 күн бұрын
Thanks Matt for the question. Now that I have a fair of miles on these coilovers, I can conclude that their build quality and longevity have proven to be good. There's no strange noises or wear showing up. If you are considering these coilovers, I would highly recommend asking the builder to run softer springs that what they consider "normal". As much as the handling has improved, they are far too stiff to be a daily setup. Perhaps softer rated springs would provide a more plush ride. Just my long term advice.

How is handling tho? for a heavier SUV, the stretched tires prevent tire wall flex so cornering feels quicker and agile. Not sure how it'll feel with the proper flat sidewall set up
@TheAutomotiveFanatic2 күн бұрын
With over 17K miles on this setup, I can tell you handling is exceptional. My opinion is skewed though because I am lowered on coilovers which provide stellar handling characteristics.

3 things you did wrong you did wrong and not according to instructions. 1- You didn’t ensure BOTH cams/arms were in the locked position BEFORE lowering. 2- Once you realized you messed up the 1st time and caused an imbalance in the hydraulic mechanism , you tried to continue lifting without lowering and allowing the hydraulics to rebalance. 3- You double stacked the blocks. These are probably the 3 biggest violations to proper usage of this product. Please return to QJ, I am sure they would not have a problem taking back the product if you are going to grossly miss use this product and blame QJ for your dumbfuhkery!
@TheAutomotiveFanatic20 күн бұрын
Thanks Georgefish for your insight and opinion. Because you're so keen on pointing out what was incorrectly, answer the following questions for me: - why does QJ NOT have a safety anti-bleed back valve installed in the hydraulic unit and ONLY rely on the cam to safety protection? - why does QJ themselves, tell you that it's safe to double stack blocks? When you're able to address these questions and tell me that you have personally used the QJ over 500 times, I'll take you a little more seriously.

This is absolutely stupid idea. You are changing the wheel diameter, the numbers mean: Width in milimetres / percentage of width as tire height - the tire wall / diameter of the rim in inches. height changes 96,25 vs 103,25 mm. Your wheel will be 1,5 centimetres wider, your car will be 0,7 cm higher by doing this. Your speedo will not measure correctly, the difference can cause other damages.
@TheAutomotiveFanatic21 күн бұрын
Thanks for your input. So please educate us why you think this is a "stupid idea". If you think the size difference would cause other issues, you should do a numbers comparison between OEM and this setup. If you did this already, you would have seen that the difference between this setup (front/back) is 1.7%, which is LESS than the 2.1% difference of the OEM setup. Furthermore, a 1 mile difference with this setup compared to OEM isn't going to make a real world difference. Once again , thanks for your input.
