Brilliant advice (as a retired art teacher/art lecturer). The best teachers always advise the students your words (don’t’copy anybody’s work, find your own style. I am horrified when yet another student turns up showing their best Bob Ross painting…groan…. Or worse, their abstract work, which is usually a pot of paint thrown onto a turntable and then paper stuck on top. Of the mess…no that is not a piece of abstract art. Wish more artists on utube were like you.

Wonderful exercise. Looks like you've have spent significant time researching, studying and practicing your art over many years. You fuckin' worked, failed, learned from your failure, pushed yourself out of you comfort box. You made yourself practice when you didn't feel like doing it (hundreds of times). You sought out people you believe have higher skill and and studied their tech until you learned some stuff from them. It annoys me when people praise the Talent instead of the years of dedication. Maybe I'm just bitter. Talent does give a little mini boost when you're first starting, but If you want to improve as fast as possible, work hard. You'll see your skill level fly above your talented friends who never bothered learning perspective. Sorry for rant. Instead I was to gush about Oliver Pyle one more time. So after he realized a skill he learned could help his community, he then takes more time to setup lights, script, film it while you trying to teach at the sane time. After a final edit afterwards, and it's finally you freely share it with your art community, who can sit-back and enjoy your quality instruction from the comfort of their home. Any artist living in this time in human history won the artist lottery in so many ways. Thanks for the great tutorial.

Olive I love your work. I often wish to be painting but alas I’m watching my grandchildren. I see you haven’t posted anything in 2024 yet. I am so hoping that you are well and that we will see another beautiful, helpful, lovely video again. I think you are the top watercolour artist. Please if you get time paint a beautiful watercolour in original time for us to watch, love and learn from. Thank you for all the videos you have given to us already.

Question about your palette. I found one like yours on Amazon US but it does not come with a lid. What do you use to cover your palette? The brand I found is a MEEDEN. Thank you in advance for your response.
