Thanks for the great video. I stayed in that campsite in late October one time in a severe sleet storm where we almost sunk our canoe in the bay around the corner and have been out there many times in the winter. It is well sheltered compared to many other places on the lake. I love it dearly because I thought I was going to drown right before we made the turn. When we pulled in an old man gave us a half dozen eggs which were truly amazing after eating dehydrated food for a week. This video brings back a lot of great memories. And, now that I’ve looked, that blows my mind. I would have never guessed you could start that far upstream albeit it’s clearly early in the year from looks hence higher water I would guess. Just wondering did you have to pull out much? The area after the County Rd W washed out bridge seems like it might be a hard to paddle section briefly there. Would you also be willing to mention where you camped? From the angle that the rivers meet it reminds me of of the blackhoof. Really a treasure of info you offer to the viewer here, ty more than words
@nemadjihermit2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you enjoyed it. The Nemadji can rise and fall fast due to the fact that its course runs through mostly clay. 8 feet as measured at the gauge in Superior WS is the minimum level if you want to start at county road 103. At that level you won’t need to get out of your canoe. I have a campsite that I developed just downstream from 103, the spot I stayed at in the video is the confluence of the South Nemadji and the Nemadji just downstream from the Minnesota-Wisconsin state line.
