This not wiping your face is a Vahabbi belief. According to four mezhep it is sunnah. - Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, "He who wants to have the fullest reward on the Day of Resurrection, let his last words before rising after prayers be "Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe". Then, he is to wipe his face with the palms of his hands. Imam Ali based his opinion on the hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When supplicating Allah, raise the palms and not the back of your hands, and wipe your face with your palms after ending your supplications" [Recorded by IbnMajah in Al-Burhan)."

Wiping of face after dua is proved by hadith:اخرج الترمذی من حدیث عمر بن الخطاب رضی اللہ عنہ قال: کان رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: اذا رفع یدیہ فی الدعاء لم یحطھما حتی یمسح بھما وجھہ؛ و اخرج ابو داود عن حدیث ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنھما وقال فیہ: فاذا فرغتم فامسحوا بھا وجوھکم Photography and picture making is unlawful and haram, Hadith sternly warns about it Allah (Subhana Wa Ta'ala) knows Best.

I respect the Sheikh because I have benefit from him about the knowledge of Islam. But I disagreed about this issue as layman. Because even though it is not proven from prophetic narration, but it is true when that their companions and the next generation followers have been done this action. ❝Wiping the face after Du'a, there are many narrations for it from the Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa salam) and there are other narrations from the Companions and their followers, may Allah be pleased with them. The chains of these Ahadith are weak when we look at them individually as stated by 'Abdullah b. Mubarak (r), that, there is no authentic Hadith reported on wiping the face after du'a, i.e - weak when we take each Hadith individually. As for all the Ahadith and the statements of the companions and their followers, when looked at collectively, it shows that wiping the face after Du'a has a basis. This is why al-Hafidh Ibn Hajr (r) says in Fath al-Bari, that, looking at all that has been narrated under the action of wiping the face shows that this action has a basis. Indeed, this action has a basis, no doubt. However, to say that if someone doesn't wipe their face then their Du'a isn't accepted then there is no such thing reported. But wiping the face is legislated and permissible* and it has been established from the Companions and their followers and the Imams that they would wipe their faces after making Du'a. Likewise, wiping the face after the Du'a of Qunut inside the salah is legislated as per the famous opinion of the (Hanbali) Madhhab, which is a Riwayah on Imam Ahmad (r), and also outside the Salah. So no doubt wiping the face has a lot of basis and supporting evidence as stated by al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar.❞ - Sh.
