Cable preacher curl and incline curls have been a stable for me. Cable preacher isn't too common of a machine I think but it is goated imo.

Congratulations! I’ve been quietly following and incorporating your training philosophies into my workouts. I would love to incorporate your basics of preacher and smith JM, but I only have barbell and dumbbells in my home gym. Any recommendations?

"Minimalism won.t fulfill u" - works well for me. Can.t think of anything worse than being exhausted 24/7 training 5+x/week. I.d rather train 1x/week, have a life, and time and energy to do what i want. There.s more to life than having a bigger biceps.

Did you just call the smith JM press a basic lift? A variation of a skull crusher and smith machine close grip bench which is a variation of a barbell close grip bench press which itself is a variation of a barbell bench press.

I"ve been working out since fall of 2022, had a rough 2023. Been back to the gym for 4 months and I have just achieved 17 inch arms.

Congratulations! It has been a fun and informative series. I vote for a boulder shoulders series. Delts are definitely my weakest body part.

Can you make a video on how exactly to do the Smith JM Press? I've been doing it for a while and it never seems to feel right. Also, it feels so heavy that ever using 2 plates or more seems completely impossible, which is why I feel like there is an underlying form issue. Thanks! And congrats on the milestone!

I've been training ez bar preacher curls in the 1-5 rep range for the past year Sep 2023 my 1rm was 49.5kg/110 for 1 and now it's 5. Honestly treating it as another power movement is really fun and the pump you get is crazy. Nice to see someone else doing it as well😄

so, would you think someone could go from starting to workout to 19 inch arms with preachers and jm press? Or do you think the lift would stall at one point and you should start with those a few years later in your training? :D

You were doing 90lbs for 6 reps at 17 inch arms? Mine are 16 and i do 90lbs for a very easy 14 reps. I can probably do 100lbs for 6-8 reps. Whats the deal? Do i genuinley need a 145lb preacher curl for 18 inch arms???

I as well am trying to build my arms because I’m a little on the taller side. As of right now I don’t have access to a smith machine or bench press, any other replacements for the jm press, and how many sets and times do you hit arms?

Seeing the flak you get for saying you have relatively average genetics irritates me because I'm in the same boat. I take pride in maximizing what i have to work with and i know for a fact that i have average genetics but when i say that out loud people argue about it with me because my numbers are above average. Like dude it took me years to get to where i am and im still not really happy with it. But if I stopped forcing myself to eat for strength I would lose weight like crazy. One summer I lost 20 lbs just playing baseball and not eating as much and not lifting. Went from 185 to 160. It takes away from what you do when people see the end result and say it isn't average

Sorry is this has been answered before but when you measure arm size is it flexed or measuring in a relaxed state? Also where did you get that digital tool to measure with?

Do you have any suggestions if JM presses hurt your elbows? I find that in the deepest part of the range of motion. It tends to aggravate my left elbow, so I’ve never really use them in one of my programs.

Gosh modern men are so lame, who cares about the size of one’s arms it’s like a woman obsessing over the size of her ass. As a man you should be worried about how DEADLY you are and capable of destroying other men physically, as a woman should be worried about the type of genetic potential she should secure. Bodybuilding is beyond g@y.. in of itself but when you supplement it with actually being a deadly man it’s based.

What's your take on the importance of the eccentric? I read an interesting instagram comment war where one guy was positing that "milking" the eccentric is a waste of time and energy because any weight you're able to move concentrically is too light to challenge the muscle during the eccentric phase of the movement. Not to say that the eccentric cannot lead to hypertrophy, just that with conventional weight training it probably isn't. I find this particularly interesting because of the recent stretch mediated hypertrophy craze which basically claims that the eccentric(at long muscle lengths) creates a unique or greater stimulus for muscle growth. But if you can logically argue eccentric training(or the emphasis of it) is borderline useless, then what platform does stretch mediated hypertrophy have to stand on? I personally believe that logical thinking like this is a more useful way of informing training because of the poor quality of scientific studies and their broad extrapolation by their proponents.

hello. well, I have a debt about "training to failure". You seem to have a lot of knowledge and experience. straight to the point, I intend to fail the last set, however, should I fail the last set in ALL my training sessions? example: second-fail + progressive overload fourth-fail + progressive overload sixth- failure + progressive overload. And that? Should I go to failure in every workout? Well, I didn't mention other important points like rest, repetition range. and etc

You know what is crazy. People always say you can much more easily progress on big compound movements. For me progression is easier on isolation work.
