I bought a $45 foam beater to practice. I'm going to try these tips. My 7'3 at 76L should float an elephant 🐘 😅

When you are over-privileged as a kid then you grow up to believe that you somehow have rights to an ocean. Like dude, you didn’t even buy a lift ticket. This is what happens when it’s too easy for rich kids to be good at a sport

I bet that there other Machado's videos where he arches his back and the head is high. the thing is, high or low depends on the wave and maybe other factors

Thanks for this breakdown! I’m a relative beginner and once I got the basics down this is what I’ve struggled a lot with is reading which wave is worth paddling for, this helped a lot in distinguishing a close out from a good wave! I surf mostly Malibu and South Bay so this is really helpful

I think this channel is great if you're focused on fitness ... however I find some of the techniques are not necessarily the most efficient and don't really work for me ... also, it's important to factor hydrodynamics & wave reading as that's 99% of the overall game. I have found this video about "how to do a midlength duckdive" from the Conatus Surf Club channel really helpful. iSURFTRIBE also has a really great traditional duckdive breakdown video - the best I've seen on KZfaq really. The midlength duckdive video in particular has really helped me with higher volume boards & get much deeper - as an average build woman who doesn't have the mass or build for the technique above, I think it's important to note that there are better ways that work for differently built people and it's about efficiency, rather than brute strength overall ;)

Nice video I’m an experienced surfer but I can’t get up anymore due to getting sciatica and maybe a little of it being I’m in my fifties. Do you have any tricks to compensate for my lack of flexibility, I miss surfing so much.

This is the secon time I've commented but this is such a great short. This method along with counting how long it takes to show that dark face, is an awesome way to judge waves. Different places have different timing but once you know the timing it's super powerful. Thanks again. 👍
