With your Certate mate you really shouldn’t be applying any oils/greases/sprays to the line roller, you will have destroyed the mag oil. Best to send it to Daiwa to service and you really need to rinse the line roller lightly under fresh water after every session in the salt.

Couldn't resist myself, picked up the 2500C. So far, I'm happy with it. It caught fish! Slightly concerned with the mag seal in the long run.. same deal as the Cerate. Don't like the idea of never being able to service it myself. Also, you are 100% correct about the Certate. They are delicate little princesses. Mine has had the tiniest drop and it's developed a little hiss. Definitely not as smooth as new.
@Saltfix11 күн бұрын
@@wholybatman you can buy the msg seal oil and tool to open them I’ve opened up an older one with a pair of grips but up side is they don’t take water in mostly . The bail roller is the only let down but that cops wet line all the time so I guess it’s to be expected . Gen black feels mint so far let’s see how it goes in a year of hard use

Was it cheaper cause it's smaller 😂. On a serious note I wouldn't put WD-40 on your reels it's a degreaser same as on a bike WD 40 will just strip grease out of the bearings. Use a light machine oil instead 👍

It’s pretty rare to actually see fish on sidescan when you’re on the Bluewater. All those crispy clean pics you see of Barra and stuff on sidescan are really close to the boat in dead calm creeks with zero boat movement, which is nothing like the ocean. Occasionally you’ll see dense schools of bait or mid-water fish like sambo schools on sidescan but in the ocean sidescan is just a tool you can use to pinpoint ground more accurately than traditional sonar.
@MrRjblair12 күн бұрын
Also 455khz is a lower frequency but “stronger” signal than 810 which gives a more fine detailed less powerful return in shallow water. For the stuff you guys do 455khz is the way to go!
