For Fraligator I would do either Dragon like you or grass, the reason for grass is because Fraligator is based on an alligator and alligators live in swamps which are a mix of plants and water

i think that you could have given kogas scisor give it Aerial Ace instead off night slash so that it is able to take more advantage off its Technician ability also give is muk ice punch instead off dig for better coverage

After Mawhile i'm just glad you did not turn Sylveon into a special staller with wish and protect. I'm just imagining some poor newbie arriving at her gym and then being hit by one of (if not the most) broken Mega up to X/Y. (Mega Kanghaskan might take that spot, but just barely) Luckily she's still an npc and thus easily outplayed. I admit, i completely forgot Olympia. The second half of the Kalos Gyms Is just a big blurr.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeahhhh I do realize the mega mawile pick is a bit insane, I think looking back I should’ve given lower base power moves or something to balance it out, especially with the intimidate still procking on the switch in. I knew I wasn’t the only one!

I think they should’ve put the new types at the time on the gen 2 starters, then meganium would get Fairy in gen 6, typhlosion would be fire dark, and feraligatr would be water steel

If meganium was a dragon type/grass and blastoise, a water/steel type it would break the fire water grass type triangle on their respective trio.

I mean pokemon is never not going to be marketed primarily as a kids game, I do think a difficulty mode that actually works would be nice to address the aging fanbase
