@@Gripworkz Rain doesn't fall on track? Oil? Dirt? Like I said not a good plan but you do you.
@Gripworkz2 ай бұрын
@damirbajic4579 We don’t race in the rain. Events out here sometimes get canceled if it rains. If someone oils down the track we get flagged to pull off the track. Dirt yes but we wipe windshields down between sessions. Time attack cars don’t need wipers. If this was a wheel to wheel competition car then yes, we would need wipers. But since we wait for ideal conditions to achieve the best possible lap times, wipers are just dead weight to us.
@damirbajic45792 ай бұрын
@Gripworkz I raced... Nobody evere removed wipers tho. Plenty of other things including AC but not the wipers. Savings is 2 small and car becomes usless. Point is to have as little weight as possible and still be road legal to be able to drive to and from event on your own. But again, you do you, enjoy and I wish you all the luck. Stay safe.

Not sure if your answered this in another reply but what master brake cylinder do you use and did you have to upgrade to account for the extra volume needed to push the bigger pistons- the EX uses a 7/8 the DX uses the 13/16
@Gripworkz10 ай бұрын
I left the original DX master and proportioning valve. Not sure if that’s the way to go but the brakes felt awesome to me at the track, no complaints with that combination

@@Gripworkz thanks for the reply - thinking about it - wouldn’t 7/8 equal 14/16? Maybe there is not much difference between the volume of fluid transferred to the larger pistons between the 14/16 ex and 13/16 dx master cylinders?

If those are in fact the sizes of the two then the 1/16” difference is measurerable but I can’t predict how noticeable that would be in the real world

Some fine thread fasteners can take a different path on the way out after they've been torqued. I'd get new ones, slightest movement at the wrong time could detonate your trans. Didn't notice it was 8 months old. Definitely always get new diff bolts. Same with flywheel, head bolts or studs, crank pulley. I've used head studs twice just because they have a different block thread pitch and has excellent clamping force. Good video! Stick the whole gear set in freezer for a few minutes. Bearing will fall off with little force. I've built a couple b16/LS Frank's. Usually just LS 5th but for some reason I remember using a LS 4th and 5th in my last trans

I have been building B-series Honda’s since the late 1990’s and never once have I bought new bolts for _any_ of the things you listed above. Not even headbolts. I know Honda says replace the headbolts, but unless we were putting in studs, we just reused the headbolts and never had an isssue.

Deleting the fixed stabilizer linkage bar seems like a bad idea. That’s what maintains the fixed distance between the shifter pivot and the gearbox. That’s why Hondas are known for such great shifters because that solid bar linkage (both bars together) is more similar in feel to a RWD transmission. S2000 and Miata gearboxes have basically the same linkage, it’s just inside the gearbox housing itself.

cut doors, remove any metal bolted to the chassis that does not serve a purpose to the rigidity of the car. Lexan all the windows besides the front windshield.. cut or remover rear bumper to freeflow air out the rear better instead of being trapped under the rear bumper that causes a slight drag.. Take out AC and heater. Side mirror delete. Get rid of Power steering and use a manual steering rack...Easily a good win! 220-250hp motor .. shiet tons of fun!
