The fact that he *could* slap him indicates that he could have, in that moment, just taken the hat. Also, calm down with the theft rhetoric. This wasn't theft. He obviously didn't intend to hold on to the hat for any length of time.

That almost feels like a courtesy when Ronaldo already put his hands on him and took his property. And yeah, he's most likely not actually stealing the hat. It was an exaggerated hypothetical. lol

StableRonaldo can be an obnoxious, annoying douchebag, and Bradley Martyn can also be a piece of crap who unnecessarily attacks people. How about they're *both* being bad people in this situation? 2. Would you also say it's acceptable to slap someone if they're lightly throwing erasers at you? Because that's essentially what StableRonaldo was doing. It was obviously a playful act. He shouldn't have done it, but the intention was to mess around, and it's not like his act had any harmful consequences (e.g. someone getting seriously hurt). "That almost feels like a courtesy when Ronaldo already put his hands on him and took his property." It feels like you're trying to elevate this act to something it isn't, to something serious. Slapping someone in this situation, especially as hard as Bradley did, is obviously an overreaction. I don't know why we can't agree on that. 3. Not sure why you would present an exaggerated hypothetical when discussing this issue except to misrepresent the situation. Like, what point were you trying to make? Because while there may be people who think you shouldn't employ violence to retrieve your property from a thief, that isn't relevant because that's not what was going on here.

Last movie I went to go see was Monkey Man and honestly, I don’t think I’ll go to a movie theatre again after working in one. The pay was barely above my state’s minimum wage, I frequently got injured because we were expected to do risky behaviors to either ensure everything was done in our very limited amount of time and was frequently harassed/threatened by customers. People are entitled snd I’m not willing to risk my life to make sure someone’s popcorn came right out of a kettle. Also management refuses often to raise wages except for their own, so 85% of my coworkers were 18 or under. It is a downward spiral caused by a lack of incoming funds to the theatre itself. I’m now working at a job that pays even less, (bc small towns only have retail and I don’t have money to move), but there I am valued and am allowed to kick out a customer if they raise their voice at me.

I think the only Star Wars films 100% coming out will be Dave Filoni’s mando movie, and the rey new jedi order film. Both these have scripts, have talent signed on, are far in production. Also have release dates. The taika film? nope, the James mangold trilogy? maybe? but likely nope, the rian Johnson trilogy? nope, those game of thrones guy movie? Nope, the patty Jenkins x wing film? nope. There’s a bunch they announced that are unlikely to release. I think lucasfilm are terrified of cinema now after solo and rise didn’t meet expectations critically/financially. I think a major problem lucasfilm and disney in general have is announcing stuff years ahead of time. It’s to please investors, but it annoys fans and kills hype. What’s the point in being excited for something if it’s a very high chance of being cancelled or releasing but it had rushed trash production which led to it not being as good as it could of been ;-;

Excellent video, I’ve subscribed. I think you hit the nail on the head. You’re right that there’s nothing quite like the cinema experience. I went to see Dune part 2 for example in the cinema and the sound design was just incredible the visuals on the big screen. Then watching it at home it does feel weaker. And you’re right that steaming isn’t the silver bullet to save movie studios. It’s insanely expensive to run those services and now that every single studio wants in on it the market has become over saturated resulting in people being overwhelmed by the amount of streaming services. It’s expensive as well.

There’s a lot of great films still being made. I don’t think “woke” like a lot of KZfaqrs claim is the reason cinema is failing. I think the real issue is the aftermath of covid, rise of streaming, and the cost of living. Most people have less money and time to spend on going to the cinema. The way to save the cinemas is either by making them super affordable again or alternatively relegating going to the theatre to an experience. Bring back intervals, have amazing comfy seats make it a super nice fancy experience. Most people I know (me included) only go to the cinema if it’s a big event like Barbie and Oppenheimer. What’s the point spending loads of money when it’ll be online soon enough and we can just watch it in the comfort of the living room. Don’t have to deal with sticky floors and rude strangers.

I pay for movie pass, which is $10 a month at minimum. I can see at least 2-3 movies a month with that, and yet...I don't. There is nothing that I want to see.

I go to the movies every Tuesday evening with some people from the disabled group I am part of. Last week we saw Furiosa and to be honest I didn’t really like Furiosa that much. Today we are going to see the new Bad Boys movie. It seems like people are going out less in general. Young adults don’t hang out at bars or nightclubs that much anymore and teenagers don’t hang out at the mall or movies that much anymore. With smartphones, iPads, social media, dating apps, streaming, Covid, and everything being more expensive now people are not going out or doing things as they used to. Generation Z does a lot of their socializing online instead of in person so they don’t go to the mall or the movies as much as the past few previous generations of teenagers, and don’t go to nightclubs, bars, or party as much as the past few previous generations of young adults.

It’s sad but you’re right. Most of my time is spent working. I love going out to the cinema, having a nice meal after with friends but nobody has the time or money for it anymore. Most of the time I’m hanging out with friends is at my place or theirs. Or like you said doing socialising online. It’s a shame that real life places are dying tho.

There’s no point in watching their movies anymore since they are not relatable. Jackie Chan is a perfect example of a great fighter, he’ll use his surroundings to his advantage and try to get away if he’s outnumbered or in danger. He doesn’t fight a group of enemies as if he had a cheat code and is untouchable.

People go on about cancel culture when wokeness itself is a culture. And what sets people off is that while claiming to be progressive they are in fact extremely prejudice towards people that don't believe in the same ideologies. This is also nothing new as it has been going on since the dawn of time when people first decided to aggressively change others through harassment. You claim to understand the struggle of gender dysphoria while not understanding how people can abuse a system of "I claim to be this, so this is what I am" and the implications it might have, for example a man trying to identify as female in order to use the women's locker room for unsavoury reasons .
