You can also use the steering box out of a dodge durango. Did that to my 98 xj and it works great. Better tighter turning radius too

I dunno man. Seems like it would be a better idea to make the drum for the rope. Either a button head bolt and washer or ream and chamfer the holes to accept the rope if you really can't stand the idea of the bolt and washer.

Fixed my heat soak with a new bilet fuel rail from amazon its like 120 bucks and 4 hole injectors from KSuspension . Should do the trick

I have the same color jeep, same front bumper, 3in lift, 33in BFGs. I have aluminum spacers that the PO did, I just left them, look fine. But I think my spacers are not that thick... little thinner. (I'm not sure I need them at all... never tested without).

I have found that when your fuel pump gets age on it.The check valve goes bad and therefore more fuel goes back into the tank and easier to vaporize.When hot so by putting a new fuel pump with a new checkvalve then it likely will not happen as

Intake holes let header heat come right up boils gas new horse shoe style has blanket i wrapped everything with dei tape added hood vents no more heat soak and only with chevron gas is when i get heat soak now.

In search of a cowl hood myself. Just a tip, use a marker around the brackets on the hood before taking the bolts out. Then you can get the hood spacers in the right place and prevent having to realign.

On our daily, I've considered doing the same mod. Many have warned, if you get into a head on collision or weird accident, hood me shear off and go through windshield, potentially hit driver. For trail only rig, seens like an eaay mod. Looking forward to next episode.

What's hilarious is that Jeep airbags are Known to not work. I have been in one that rolled on the highway and the airbags didn't go, I've nailed a deer with one and the airbags didn't deploy, minus these new Fiats, The company that made the airbag that Chrysler used in these Jeeps was sued for 10 years straight because of these airbags never working and going off in the most inconvenient times, I'm pretty sure the only way they stopped getting sued is because the last judgment exempted them from getting sued anymore which is insane because people are still using their products that they sold that are 85% defective but they dont care, if you live in a state that has inspections I feel so bad for you because it's a complete sham made for companies to profit off of instead of caring about safety, All they want to see is that stupid air bag light off and they don't actually care if the airbag works. If they did they'd allow us to still sue that company.......

I swapped my 96 with the 2002 era brande new lares wj pump and swapped the high pressure fitting and got A 97+ high pressure xj hose to fit. However it is making a whirring noise no matter how much i burp the thing. Im out of ideas besides buying a new pump.

I would like to but the cruise control switches off of you 98 steering wheel.. I have a 98 but eh switches the last owner put in were a later model where they changes the amp signals after 98 so mine doesn't work

All the mods are cool, I get it, but only if you never intend to sell it. If you ever try to sell a modded XJ you'll never get back the money that you put into in but I guess that's true of any modified vehicle. My XJ is bone stock, maybe someday I'll have enough money for a 2nd XJ that I can lift and modify, that way I'll have the best of both worlds. The only mod that I really want to do is the airbag delete. I just don't trust a 25 year old air bag. For that reason I thank you for posting this informative video.

Always great to see people making quality of life improvements to their XJ. Just did Herculiner, Kilmat decoupled with Siless foam insulation. Ceiling is one area besides the doors and back quarters to do.

when you bolted down the wheel and drove it did you feel the wheel had a little resistance? i think the wheel needs a little relief in the back casting for the wire trough that supports the ab, cruise and horn wires, i believe the clockspring is binding, and slap a 2.7 ohm resister between so no illumination...

I am so sick of my jackerys not charging and turning off with full charges (day or night) and then not charging. I also have their e2000 battery packs and they disconnect. Fix is to unplug everything, reset, and the setup from scratch. 10 or 15x a month. Jackery also tells you NOT to reset your units lol. Make up your f'n. I love how support never answers and email support takes 2 days and you have to send them videos of everything they tell you do to before they will help.

FYI, NEVER adjust the centering of the steering wheel by moving it a spline or two one way or another. Make sure it's exactly where the previous wheel was. The clock spring is designed to only turn each way a certain amount and you will ruin it if you adjust your steering wheel to center it. Center your wheel properly by adjusting the steering components during an alignment.
