Wow well done Joshua. I've been racing for 20 years and I've picked up 2 wins (they were pretty small races) but being out in front definitely spurs you on because you feel like you are the hunted. So I am not surprised about the PR. Plus the weather looked nice and cool. I know what you mean about the 5k. Every time I run one I know it's going to hurt from .25 miles in until the end. I don't mind them though; you can do them frequently and they wind up being fun and a great way to meet people. Love seeing the progress you are making and definitely a cool video.

Do your tips work if u have a wide fit shoe and u want it more snug in the heel? I'm considering trying to go down half a size to lock that heel down better
@joshuaxruns2 күн бұрын
If you think the length will still be good, then I would go half size down.
@andyn60532 күн бұрын
@@joshuaxruns half size down fitted perfect on my foot but sadly the kayano 30 has been reinforcements in the toebox that are rigid and rub against my big toe. So I had to keep the ones in size 45 to get rid of that hard and annoying edge

Boston 12 already feels tight for me. I got left forefoot pain running over 5k with it. But with my novablast 4 my foot feels fresh even after 15k.
@joshuaxruns7 күн бұрын
The Novablast is a great shoe!
@manhunni7 күн бұрын
bought it cause everyone hyped it and loved it.. so i gave em a shot. first bought my regular size, but it was kinda tight. bought half size up, was way better. ran 10 miles and my toe next to my pinkie hurt on the middle joint .... well was at the end kinda painful, so i tryed it another days later maybe the upper needed to fit and streched a little. Second run same 10 miles... my complete white shoe was full of blood caused by my toe ... lol well... that was nasty to clean.... i heated it up and streched it with force... now its ok its a "good" shoe if you fit in perfect. but i need kinda little more cushion. love the novablast 4. maybe it gets better after another 20-30 miles
@joshuaxruns7 күн бұрын
That does not sound fun. I agree it’s a great shoe if it fits you well, but I would have retired it already if I had the same thing happen to me. Hope the foot heals quickly!
@philipniddrie7 күн бұрын
I have wide feet and it’s so tight around my midfoot. I haven’t taken it for a run but it’s hard to see how it will break in enough to be comfortable. Really want to love it but might have to return and see if they drop wides.
@joshuaxruns7 күн бұрын
Yea the one downside is the snug fit. Can make the shoe unenjoyable for anyone who it doesn’t fit well.
@jw_258 күн бұрын
I'm not a good runner and I like the SL2 much better than the Boston 12. The latter is very stiff (because of the rods) and I could not really get the full benefit unless I'm really pushing the peace hard. Whereas the SL2 suits me better at a variety of paces.
@joshuaxruns8 күн бұрын
That’s my favorite part of the sl2 as well. Plates make shoes feel stiff if you are running at slower paces which is never fun. I’m considering the Boston 12 so thank you for that insight.
@abirdie4me5 күн бұрын
@@joshuaxruns I have both and love both. Different, but both good in their own ways. Boston is slightly wide for me, but not a deal breaker. SL2 at under $100 with Addidas discount is bargin of the year!

I have never run in the vomero but believe that is probably the better shoe for daily miles. I have a feeling I’m in the minority using the invincible as an up-tempo daily trainer.

Tried running in these for fast intervals and it started to cause ankle pain . It’s much better for a recovery run but a little to much rocker to just walk in
@joshuaxruns8 күн бұрын
That’s the one difficult thing about reviewing shoes. It’s subjective to each runner and just because it works for me means it will work for you. Still a great recovery shoe though!
