I like bent over rows but it’s a bad excessive choice. It’s hard to stay at that bent angle and most people will stress their lower back. It’s also a short range of motion and most people will overdo it to try and get a “full” ROM

These videos are super helpful. You don't waste a bunch of time bullshitting about stuff nobody cares about and just explain and demonstrate. I really appreciate these resources I hope the page does well.

I prefer the RDL, can feel it much more. Profession with B-Stance and offset hand placement. Greater core activation and eccentric load.

but insulin IS blocking fat burning, isn’t ? so maybe it’s still helpful to do fasted cardio (in the morning) to power up a caloric deficit ?

Why not just add a controlled descent wouldn’t that increase hypertrophy in the pendlay row?

It IS a good thing that you mentioned your asymmetric movements because I know you can build the weaker muscles that are doing it. Squat University has youtube shorts that point out people with similar problems. In a short shows the move that hurt or showed a move with problems. Then he shows how he checks what the problem is, the exercise used to remedy the situation, and the improved lift or squat. (Hint: a lot of the time it has to do with a limitation in internal rotation on one side. IIR) Good balance and cheers. ((I just thought of something else readers may like to know. There is a youtube channel called Hybrid Calisthenics who often gives a set of regressions and progressions that gives an idea to change the exercise to fit your body. He also suggests standards for what it takes to know when to progress.. though he often does advanced moves (like human flag!) he relates to beginners and has a routine which takes each exercise through the levels..) I got busy writing this because this Functional Bodybuilding discussion is way above my level of doing . I am just hanging.

To Satya's question at @31:22, I'd highly recommend Joel Jamieson's work. His book "Ultimate MMA Conditioning" is invaluable and should be read by every coach but he's done a lot of great, informative content here on youtube and various podcasts. Absolutely changed the way I live and trained and got me over the hump in terms of better understanding energy system training, and understanding, programming, and prioritizing conditioning

I thought if you use Pullup, Wallballs... for Zone 2 training you get to mutch lactate and than it is an other form of zone 2 its a Huge metabolic difference. Or can you do this exercises without getting you lactate up? (Did you test you Lactate after zone 2 training?)
@kaisegrud
@kaisegrud Ай бұрын
Yeah I feel like there must be a difference in terms here, because when I hear doing those EMOMs at 80%, that sounds very much high aerobic. Sounds more like track intervals than traditional zone 2 training. That said, someone as strong as Marcus very well could be cruising, with 2mmol of lactate on those movements.
