I used Speedometer Simple on my phone to do my tests and tune and is accurate for top speeds. I tested it while riding in my car and is 100% spot on. Flaw is it doesn’t pick up acceleration well and takes a second for it to register on the speedometer.

I found it tricky to drive if you are used to a normal 2wd slash, body puts a lot of weight over the rear end and it makes for a very understeery drive. Definitely an interesting vehicle out of the box

Red locktight not going to work because of the heat that's how you remove parts when they have red lock tight. You would have to use lock washers to keep it from backing off. 💯✌️

I’m going to get longer bolts and run them backwards and use nylock nuts on the side away from the exhaust with a lock washer. If it comes off after that I’m welding it lol

That looks like its a 4.6 engine savage x first gen block and they changed the cooling head and pull start parts its a 21 body but a lot of the parts are savage x from the first gen x wich is basically a 21/25 savage with some factory upgrades. The savage x model after the first gen is what most people are use to seeing with the x on the side plate and a couple of visual factory changes 💯👍✌️💪 there quite a few savage x models unfortunately they didn't alter the name so any one could tell the difference between them besides the new savage x gt6 wich is basically the same thing with factory changes/a few factory grades. 💯👍✌️🤭😉

For upgrade diff you would be looking for savage x bullet proof diffs you can use the new savage x parts as stock upgrade parts as a upgrade. A hpi trophy header as a upgrade over the stock. To get out any dents in the muffler pipe put water in it and stick it in the freezer . Savage nation 💯👍✌️💪😉

46 thats a great speed is impressive for brushed. Do a full steering links and servo saver kit, steel ball ends for the front arms, servo mount and it will make it run straight and take the tamiya slop out. I like the Tamiya but I will never be a big fan as there cheap but to have a proper running car it cost too much. P.S shock are a big difference not so bouncy but doing well 👏

It definitely needs some upgrades in the steering and shock department. The only reason I haven’t done any of it was I want to see as speed increases what parts fail first. I was told the driveshaft wouldn’t last and it’s still hanging on. Lol once a part fails or just makes it impossible to drive I will change it. Also hit 48mph last time out against the Redcat lightning

Can you dremel the mount or make them closer to a 1 to 1 ratio. I'm off to Japan next month for work and going to Super Rajikon. Going buying a Hitec 50th Annivery 10.5T brushless motor and a bunch of stuff as it's duty free.

I’m sure room could be made but I don’t want to have to cut into the chassis. It 45/49 now I believe and should be more than enough gearing once I swap it to a brushless higher kv setup and 3s

I never use Tamiya screws I just go hex hardware, which is not good as I invented in the Tamiya screw driver kit and wil never use it ha.

Whenever I go through any older nitro cars or trucks that have the Phillips head screws I buy the stainless hex hardware kits. Not a fan of that hardware ether

@rynks_rc high tensile stainless steel or 12.9 hardness steel is always good. I don't use aluminum screws, though they look nice with the colours they strip too easy and over priced.

@@kanenstuff I buy the kits from RC screws. There alittle soft if you go hard on them but for under $40 you can’t go wrong and the amount of extras they throw in really go a long way

@rynks_rc that's good I'm an Australian working in Malaysia we have great quality stuff. A hex kit is 30 MYR or 30 AUD for 200pcs for and assorted pac so it's a bit of bargain like our 40 cents per litre petrol/gas.

@rynks_rc I don't think it's the clutch I'm almost positive it's the springs catching on the screw so the shoe can't separate and grab the outer clutchbell.
