The lamest description ever. It was complete to the fuel pressure shutoff valve on the fuel pump fluid inspection. Without the carbon vapor the thing won't fire right anyway..

Cool idea. But I bet 2 people could lift that frame up to get to your bike.

One could, you'd only need to tip it up from the back.

Thanks for the in depth video. I have a question about the location of the bank angle sensor. In later VFR's it is in the front of the bike. Is that true with your VFR?

Great job. Found this whilst looking for a temp solution for my 2 bikes whilst I build my garage/garden room at the back on my house (on to a private access road). May well do the same using your helpful video. I did have a thought on your set up as see at 4:48 there a view down your side passage to the rear showing the stepped block and brick-coped party wall that also recesses in narrowing the width of that gap further. I wondered if it swapped out for a thin fence that followed the middle line of the lower front wall if that would give enough wiggle room (and it would probably mean a wiggle!) to get your bikes down the passage? I imagine you considered this and may not have or want the garden space fo this anyway but just a thought. I'm also currently obsessed with groundworks (as part of my learning on myh project) and note that a very tidy cement base you have there out front!

Is there any difference between the 1 gen(99-02) and 2gen(03-15 I think) besides that the 1 gen have a caburator and the 2gen has FI? And what gen is the motorcycle you are showing?

My bike has an off/run/off switch, a 2 position light switch, and a start push button, when I turn my key on with the ignition and press the start button it starts the bike regardless of which position the off/run/off switch is in, it also continues to run whichever position that switch is at if I move it, my next issue is my lights will only come on when I put that 3 way switch to the run position but this then also starts the motorcycle without pressing the start button, it continues to turn over the starter motor until I turn the light switch to the off position, any ideas what is going on with this? I really want to keep the switch as it’s the original 1980 switch for my Kawasaki. If I do have to replace it, would wires be the same colour on all switches? P.s I also have parasitic drain of around 1v loss over a 12 hour period, could this be cos of this issue with this switch?

Got a dumb question, Changed oil and in my haste blanked out the fill spout on the right side and instead filled on the left stator cover where you can view the timing marks. I ended up putting 2qts on the left side and 0.9 on the right, I have not started it yet but will that be enough oil to circulate back into the normal fill or should I full drain and fill in the correct right side? Thanks **Update - It finally flowed into the reservoir just took a good 24 hours, was fairly sure the crank had a channel to allow the flow just was odd it took that long

I think I would use dome headed coach bolts rather than screws to build this excellent project, and maybe locks at top and bottom to stop thieves twisting the door open? However this is just what I need as I am stuck for space with no room for a normal size shed. Thank muchly!!!

There are little caps over your fuel mix screws remove them to get at the screws and make your mix richer to get rid of the pops and bangs. Honda made the bikes mix super lean but if you go at the exhaust altering it in anyway or air filter you will have to retune your carbs

That box metal part is common to be rusted out but its not load baring its probably due to those bikes coming in from canada or us to the uk. I have 3 that have that box part totally rusted out and one that is intact as it sat in a container for yrs due to god knows why. Otherwise the steel on it is like gun metal

Ive seen another video where the guy had a sliding rail for the front wheel. He put the front wheel into this ( like a bike courier van putting front wheel so it cant topple) and then just pushes the bike in. Thank you fir sharing your excellent idea.

For motorcycle with electric start and kickstart, how starter clutch disengages electric starting system when being kick-started? Both are engaged with crankshaft at start

The main thing I hate about the VFR, and I've had several, is the single sided swingarm is pointless with the exhaust located where it is. It negates the ease of wheel maintenance. Also, having owned the Suzuki RF900 during that era, that or CBR 900 were cheaper to maintain. The VFR's best attribute was its cures. They are boring. The flat torque curve and lack of excitement over time is a buzz kill. That's why people got rid of them but come back. Oh, I've owned 4 over the years.

Forgive me my noob question but I have to replace a damaged indicator. (2 wires) If I mistakenly connect them the wrong way, can that cause a short or will it just not function? The bike is a 33 years old Suzuki. Thanks!

Great video very clearly delivered and timed. A bit of advice though, try to be a little more mindful of where the camera is. at the moment your arm is in front of the camera too much so we can't see what you're demonstrating.

To be absolutely sure of getting ALL the residual gunk out of the callipers get yourself a small ultrasonic cleaner and some special cleaning fluid. You will be amazed at what it will shift, also essential if your rebuilding the VFRs carbs !.

@@trevorphillips3055 imo v4 is better of having in a car than in motorcycle, motorcycles should be light fast and easy to repait with your own hands, 4 cylinders is too much

Throwing away a dl650 engine at 60.000...blasphemy. If propperly taken care of (oil, filters, valves, timing chain) they easily last over 200.000 And that comes from how brilliant the Jappanese were when they built this engine. How the oil jets work and are distribuited and how the oil is ran trough the oil cooler to keep an optimal temperature.
