Could you have him wearing the clone wars gauntlets and his Jedi robe at the same time?
@BostonCollectors9 сағат бұрын
Yes, although he’d look a lot bulkier if you did. 🍻
@duncanmcdaniel8 сағат бұрын
@@BostonCollectors I was curious because no one else asked about it and no one else had both on
@BostonCollectors8 сағат бұрын
@@duncanmcdaniel I’m glad you asked! His robe felt a bit clunky equipped on the figure, so I didn’t think to try it on because of it. It does work though, so if it’s a look you’d like to have you’re all set. 🍻

Great review, I just received mine the other day and I get it… the likeness is iffy but this is still a great figure IMO and I’m happy to have it. You’re exactly right about the lighting, when I tried getting pics, the lower light and low angle shots had some likeness.
@BostonCollectors20 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much! While I'm still happy I picked him up, I haven't gone to look at him in the display which is rather telling. Feels like a shelf stuffer, sadly. Either way, if it makes you happy to have him, that's really all that matters. 🙌🏼

Please do not ever leave this hobby. Your videos are so inspiring and instructional. Btw I also have ordered two of mace 👍
@BostonCollectors20 сағат бұрын
Haha, I'll try not to unless it becomes unhealthy. I wish we were able to cover more, but this hobby can be pretty expensive as you know. Congrats on grabbing 2 Mace Windus as well! I finally caved and picked up a second preorder for Kit Fisto. It felt strange leaving him out of the Clone Wars line up. Thank you for watching and we appreciate the kind words! 🙏🍻

BC have I told you that you're production is absolutely phenomenal (YES EVERY DAY VIDEO!)? The lighting, the close ups the audio are all top notch an help to break down the figures. Much, much appreciated. Great figure, I can not wait. BTW do you think Hot Toys could have added :BAD MF'er" on his saber :)?
@BostonCollectorsКүн бұрын
Haha, thank you, thank you! A lot goes into it, but it's always a great feeling when it's noticed like that. We're just glad you all enjoy it! 😄 In terms of the etched BMF initials, I highly doubt it. I only pointed it out in case collectors were hoping for it. To be honest, I'm glad it isn't there.

Completely agree with you... I love it, but it could have been Epic if that Head sculpt was on point..... what could have been.
@BostonCollectorsКүн бұрын
It's a decent figure, but it feels more like a shelf stuffer. After the review, I haven't really looked at him again. Although typing this out made me look, lol! I'm currently posing Darth Vader which is strange after a new release. It's a weird feeling to spend that much money and not feel much.

a revised headsculpt like Tony stank would be a good move from hottoys for us Collecters myself i'll give the sculpt a 7 really dont understand why they not used the Maul magnetized techniq for him aswell for the Pers... overall its gorgeous figure, bro i love your setup review 👌

If there were more noise about it, I'm sure it would've happened. Unfortunately though, we had the strength from collectors on their side of the world and ours for Tony's, whereas the reception for this one is mixed. Thank you, man and thanks for watching! 🤝🍻

Excellent review mate! Think I was a lot more forgiving of the headsculpt in my review but in doing so I over-hyped it just cos I was excited to get it at the time 😅 Your reveiw is a lot more balanced and a fairer reflection of the figure tbh 👊🏻 Thanks for sharing! 🙌🏻
@BostonCollectorsКүн бұрын
Thanks, man! And it's all good. If you enjoy it that's really all that matters. I think it's one of the reasons a lot of us enjoy watching your content. It's the fun it brings to seeing you open a new figure and just appreciating it without holding it to high standard. Something I'd say only you cover right now and extremely well. Although, that could be a spin off for more content if you wanted to. A follow up series if you will! "Mace Windont: Why The Party Really Might Just Be Over" 😄 Thanks for watching man, and I appreciate you always swinging by! ❤🙏🏻

Been waiting on this to drop 🙌🏻 Only you can make what I consider to be a mediocre figure look good brother. Wish the sculpt weren’t just “serviceable” or I’d have him myself.

Let's go! Listen, we try our best, we try our best. This was probably one of the more difficult portraits to film, because it almost appeared different in each clip. Lighting and angles changed it almost 80% of the time. Unfortunate. Thanks for watching, man! 🍻

i do think those clone wars hands are just modified off their standard clone ones, with the figures cut for his to be exposed, but yea i think hot toys just kinda phoned this one in, nothing special and nothing that good unfortunately. mace deserved better
@BostonCollectors2 күн бұрын
I'll have to look at them a bit more closely, because I may have to get a little more creative. Shouldn't have to do it, but here we are. You'd think they go the extra mile since it's Mace Windu, but I guess not. With Padmé getting an upgrade to her hands, I guess I was a bit too hopeful. 😐

“This isn’t Samuel L Jackson…” SteveCarell.gif - THANK YOU! This “Mace” is ROTJ Luke Skywalker levels of disappointment for me.
@BostonCollectors2 күн бұрын
The fact that my minds eye played the gif though... 😭😂 Daaaaaaang! I don't own that one, but now I'm curious. I'll have to do a bit of research. I don't think a repaint could save this either. My man deserve a Tony Stank run for a replacement portrait.
@BrooklynWolfTheCollector2 күн бұрын
@@BostonCollectors consider yourself fortunate to have dodged that bullet. IMO, Mando Luke is all you need for an ROTJ power level Luke. If you can eBay the hair piece of ROTJ Luke, it makes the Mando portrait sing.
@BostonCollectorsКүн бұрын
@@BrooklynWolfTheCollector Lmaooo! Damn, that just sound bad. 💀 I was on the hunt for hair pieces after the Mando Luke came out, but the asking price for some of them made me drop it in heart beat. Maybe a reissue at some point and hopefully they provide a better version of the ROTJ Luke if they do.

Great video. As a new collector of one sixth figures, this was super helpful. I'm curious-- if you are ditching the art boxes, what is your storage solution for figures that are no longer displayed? I'd like to toss most of my art boxes, but I just don't know how to go about storing figures once their taken off display. Thanks, and just subbed to see more of your videos!

I’m not going to worry about the arms. Going to pose her dynamically. If they start to break down, I’ll just replace the body with one that has exposed joints. I prefer that anyway. She’s in the mail!

I know you're doing a future video on your lighting, which is amazing, by the way. I was just wondering what brand strip box and Octa you are using in the video? I paused it several times, but couldn't get any clues. Thank you again for all you do for this Community.

Not a problem, Douglas! We try our best to keep a consistent feel to our material and provide the best content we can while making it worth your time. Just happy to help where we can. Ah, those clips were from previous uploads we have for channel members. But the lights I use are rather dated. I’ve had them for 3 years now and I’m due for an upgrade. Those are the Godox SL-60W lights. The soft box is the 32”x32” / 80x80 centimeters Neewer Octa design. Hope this helps, and thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch our video. 😄🙏🏼

If you’re collecting Star Wars Hot Toys, I used the Home Depot Large storage boxes for them. I also threw out the shippers, but I kept the plastic bag around the art boxes. Too many of them around though, but the best method I could find.
