The vast majority of people are buying Bitcoin as an investment (i.e. to make a profit when it is converted back to fiat money), and not to make a payment. Hence, I conclude that buying or holding Bitcoins for investment, is haraam. Right? Also, I believe it is also important to remind all Muslims who are investing in Bitcoins, their obligation to pay Zakaat at 2.5% of its value (at the time of paying the Zakaat) every year. If the value of Bitcoin increases beyond what you can afford to pay, and you add to that the high volatility and technological risks (e.g. quantum computing defeating the integrity of the underlying blockchain), then you understand why many scholars advise against investing in Bitcoins.

Id definitely choose Loughborough. The MBA isn't top tier and I feel it'll be a while before it gets near that level but it's a respected uni overall and everyone knows it's improving every year. Make sure to check out my MBA video if it's worth it as well!

That’s not really how it works tbh otherwise we can do several interest transactions and then just pay the penalty. You have the mortgage now, make an intention to not engage in any new riba transactions, pay excess off as soon as possible even if there’s a penalty.

No offense caused. I just wanted to know if you were mature student as it's help in the reply. I think if you're a mature student birkbedk will be a good option for you. A lot of the courses and uni overall is tailored for that. The reputation is great and the industry knows most people who go there are either mature students or working part time as well

A+F. You'll be able to take some business modules as well which will be useful but on the whole A+F will give you better practical knowledge for work.

Id be happy with the order you wrote it in. The main difference between those three places is the location, you'll have to decide what type of city you prefer because they're each very different and can impact how happy you'll be there

Probably Lancaster , not every Russell group uni is amazing. Most employers don't even know the full list.

Would a degree like "economic studies and global sustaible development" from warwick be just as good for investment banking as "econ/econ and management" from Warwick, because that course is a lot easier to get on to and still contains economics? Is it the uni thats more important mainly as long as its economical?

yeh id say thats fine. Of course its not the same, you'll be doing less econometrics and more qualitative material but it'll be from Warwick. The person doing Maths/Eco/STEM will have an advantage but you can score an interview as well easily.

Id say yes, only about 3 or 4 A+F degrees in UK universities are good enough for IB. Warwick is one of them.

@Nico_911 In the end you're competing with people who are studying for a finance related degree. If you presume 80% will apply and have the knowledge already of finance you're comparing your chances with them. Is there anything you can do to show (on your cv) you're actually interested in finance , have the knowledge, and why then you decided to study sustainable development.

Walkum salaam, I have experience of pp at kings and I can say it’s good. I would prefer kings uni over the other two but that’s because I like London…the social life of London and Birmingham is better than Bristol as Bristol has things to do but is also a much smaller city and you’d have done everything after the first year. London also can network easily with other Indonesian students at other unis if you wanted to. But as unis, all three have great reputation and you wont academically miss out on anything by going to any of them.

@tya717 they're all pretty much equal but I'd say KCL/Bristol/Birmingham but Bristol and KCL can argue to be changed as well. And I wouldn't say KCL is super demanding, you will get challenged to produce good work but that's the same at all top unis

No , for example oxford only offers eco and mgmt and not straight eco. But generally the uni rankings will play a part and Warwick will be ahead of bristol

No, Economics at LSE is one of the hardest courses to get into in the UK and employees know that. But LSE overall is a respected institution and theres a reason why its in the elite category. Yes the degree in A+F etc from LSE will make you stand out but compared to Eco grads at at other top unis it'll be lower in priority....however if you feel you have a good chance at getting into those degrees like mgmt and A+F at LSE i would say go for it as just by attending LSE you give yourself a massive headstart

the prestige will be oxbridge and imperial. But ucl will be understood as a top uni as well at most US universities….unlike the top uk unis for phd, in America it’s all about name brands because of all the money involved .

Very good degree for the future, id recommend it . But make sure you research the jobs you're after and see what kind of experience they want. Most likely you'll have to work your way up to your dream job

I've visited the campuses of a couple of these, so I'll add my impressions for those: Lancaster: Equally solid across all departments for STEM, social sciences, and humanities; and visible research trickling down through PG and UG. Out-of-city location, regular buses, and lots of shops on-campus. Genuine sense of a buzzing community for study and social life. I agree, UNDERRATED! Bath: At the top of steep hill that descends into a beautiful city. For STEM and social sciences, excellent, but barely any humanities (it perhaps defers to Bath Spa Uni); for me, research suggests interdisciplinarity, so I prefer unis to cover all bases. For undergraduate STEM subjects, definitely a Russell Group alternative.
