Thank you for sharing your story. My account was terminated too last week. They say for Falling Slots Puzzle, which trailer you can see on my channel. Just a puzzle game on slots thematic. No links, no SDKs, no nothing. Same bot-answer on appeals. 5 years of hard work and 4 big games with 100.000+ players - all just destroyed by bot. Thank you Gooooogle! Just my opinion, but professionals that can code, and i means heavy experience, and at the same time, that professional is also deep into the business analyst part - to know the use cases, the business side on how such software is needed - thats the person that will get the most out of AI. Because if you are connected to a chatgpt service, you need to ask chatgpt to code in such a way as to properly understand the requirements of the end user - having chatgpt generate a ton of code, isn't good enough. All this assumes you have no BRDs done... All this assumes you have no wireframes or DB schemas - this assumes you will sit with chatgpt and rattle from notes some hypothetical MVP. So people who are very sr in development (coding) but worked with end clients - us old farts, embrace chatgpt. ChatGpt is perfect for us grey hair innovators. Sure, its harder to teach an old dog new tricks, but this tool is the answers for experienced people. If you are the type of person that meets a new client, and then requests a "brain storming session", and if you know how to pull out of the clients head, all of their problems, their pain points, the part of their business that is expensive and needs automation - if you do that in those technical sales meetings, and then go back to your silo and code - consider chatgpt as your side kick in those brain storming sessions.

I've been playing with Gemini for a couple of months now and I totally agree. Somehow you can just see where the AI is disappearing down a rabbit hole. But when I just can't remember something, or just want a 2nd opinion (I normally get this by pushing a question into search and comparing answers on Stack to my code) Pushing the same question into Gemini is much faster and usually has a more thorough response. But I need to know the right question to ask.

There are certain patterns to life. Look at chess for history re AI. An AI app will beat a human. But an AI/human team will stomp a mere AI. An experienced human with vision augmented with chess AI apps grunting out possible patterns will not lose unless playing against another human/AI team. I strongly suspect LLM AI will be similar for programming.

Hi, great video! May I know, if I have submitted appeal, and reply to reviewer message. But, I do not have a binary update. Should I tap on the "Add for Review" button, or just letting the app stay at rejection state, and wait for reply from reviewer/ appeal team? Thanks.

we had an account for over 10 years without an issue, running smoothly and suddenly they decided to terminate the account without prior notice and not a single detail. (away from the standard message "related developer account terminated"). I think google should give us a break from this policy and really share a heads up before taking this absurd action agains us devs.

"I haven't done anything with it yet" but "ZOMG it's gOiNg tO cHAnGe EvErYThiNg!!" This is such vacuous bandwagon behaviour... Maybe try using the crap and realize that it's little more than wasteful vaporware that cannot be used in any environments that require precision and accuracy (like, you know... programming!?!?)
@OverpassApps
@OverpassApps Ай бұрын
Seriously? You think it's vaporware? Coding is always necessary. I see people think they can use AI for simple functions or trying to use it like Google and that is definitely overkill. Code is still necessary and will continue to be so. Code is consistent. It follows rules exactly. I've worked on some huge systems with millions of dollars at risk if they failed and they had very complex logic. Yet, there's always situations where someone has to make a decision. So we have to create a queue and an approval process, etc, etc. When I run things in my own company, I only hire people when I can't code a nuanced decision. And that always means looking at nuance and making a decision based on lots of factors. AI, does that last bit. It doesn't replace code-- it can, but that's so inefficient that there is no reason to do it. But it is a game changer. And it should be considered when creating new technical solutions.

@@OverpassApps just look at the most recent Google debacle with search (recommends eating rocks for a balanced diet, etc), or the one before that with images - yes, it's vaporware. It literally vaporizes copious amounts of energy to produce dangerous hallucinations. When they say 50% of new code is being written by AI, what they don't say is that additional 200% of time is dedicated to debugging, erasing, and/or refactoring that code. Look at instances of "certainly" in academic research since Nov 2022 - it's literally polluting our science with absolute trash. Or look at our creative fields and how creators have been *ROBBED* of their IP and an entire generation of fledgling artists, writers, and musicians are now discouraged from pursuing an already thankless but essential craft. All in exchange for bland replacements, crooked fingers, and deepfakes. And even in fields where it seems to make sense, like reporting and customer service - it is a) eliminating essential entry-level roles for most industries, and b) creating a potentially dystopian future for us all... doesn't take much to imagination to see how fast it can get to a Black Mirror episode. So yes, it is absolute vaporware in every sense of the word - even in the most meta sense considering that it's vaporizing the very essence it requires to be trained. And also, you're about 18 months late to this mind-blowing insight that you're having. Kindly, wake the f*ck up.

If you insist... The technology burns infinite energy just to power its useless hallucinations. It cannot be trusted in any meaningful production environment (which you'd know if you actually used it). Just look at the latest Google debacle for a taste of the vaporware (recommends eating rocks for a healthy diet, etc). Or the one before with images.. Look at Devin for an even more transparent example of just how much vapor it generated in its own promotional demo - claiming to solve a real Upwork task, meanwhile it was spinning for 10+ hours (thousands of dollars?) in order to do nothing more than create issues in existing code and solve none of the actual assignment. They say that 50% of all new code is generated with AI. What they don't say is that an additional 200% of time saved is now being dedicated to debugging, rewriting, and refactoring that code. Have you seen Rabbit? Humaine? The list of grifts is growing by the day. Seems like you really want to contribute... Or look at how all of the generative AI has stolen IP from legit artists and demoralized an entire generation of painters, writers, musicians, likely robbing society of one of the most thankless yet valuable archivists, commentators, and entertainers. All for what - crooked fingers and deepfakes. I could go on. But you should really do you own research. Kindly, please wake the f*ck up...

Always good to see a new Overpass video! Great to see you back in the states and enjoying your stay. It would be cool to get a broad look at your remote work setup someday if you think it would warrant its own video. I envy anyone who is able to step away from a big monitor and full keyboard and still get real work done. I for one welcome more AI videos too. It's funny. My friends and family assume that AI must be a sore subject for me. All they hear is that AI is going to make developers obsolete. I say that might happen someday, but right now what it's doing is making my job easier, more enjoyable, and way more fulfilling. As you said, this technology is creating so much opportunity. I have had a blast automating aspects of my existing projects and revisiting ideas I previously abandoned with a new understanding of what's possible. The OpenAI API - especially now that it can reliably and consistently respond in JSON - feels like an "everything API."
@OverpassApps
@OverpassApps Ай бұрын
Yeah, I was so excited when they first announced the JSON response back when they did. And the seed value. It may be able to code later. But most of the time, we aren't hired to write code. The same way an author is not required to type. We are hired to delivery technical solutions. And that's still a skill that the normies don't have :-)

I had the same experience with a first time job so called intern dev this year. Dude used to push his chair around me every 2 hours and checking what I was doing. Micromanaging and trying use subtle putdowns here and there, bashing my school course against his, and directly making arrogant disrespectful remarks to the point of making me feel bad about my skills and life, very ausive. I had to go directly to the boss and tell him I was going to change my desk to other side of the room. Super arrogant, fun fact is after the original boss decided to change his desk into our room and starting to perceive dude was actual slacker without imagination to come up with solutions and used to stand there consuming company time w out actually doing anything. The toxic developer is always the arrogant one who overvalues their own skills.
