Do you think I can get regional straight out of training? I’m going through the Cdl school with them.

I think it depends on availability. I went straight to it after my orientation.

Really enjoy all your content. Went back to some older videos - I’m interested in KLLM (currently have a class B) I live at north east corner of IL- near Wisconsin border. Are you OTR or Midwest? Seems like majority of you freight is Midwest (you line in NC?). Seems like if I did Midwest or OTR- I wouldn’t have trouble finding loads home with KLLM- thoughts? Appreciate any insight. Thanks again for all your vlogs - learning a lot about the job and KLLM.
@evertgerritsen794223 күн бұрын
Hi Dylan. I watched another video where you explained you’re Midwest. It looks like I would have no problem getting loads home if I were assigned Midwest. Is it safe to assume, the same would apply if were OTR?
@DylanLear16 күн бұрын
Based on where you live you would probably have an easy time gettting home on time as they do alot out of chicagoland. Midwest would be your best bet but I am not sure how easy it is to get on the account. I'm in KY so it was tough as not alot came here and it was the border between midwest and south east. Also with you being there, you would have to leave your truck at the Burns Harbor terminal being so close. I am glad you are enjoying the videos!

@@DylanLear thank you, Dylan. I just got a conditional offer to start the Academy. I think it will be early August. I wish you were a trainer!!

How often at KLLM do you have to drive all night/overnight? Or do you mainly drive in the daytime into the night and start up in the morning…?
@DylanLear16 күн бұрын
It only depends on the load. if I got loaded at 6pm and had the hours, then I would have to run until my clock was done. Usually I ran based on my clock unless there were stops that were time sensitive so I couldn't show up early.
@YoungTruckingLifeАй бұрын
Do they not have any KW? Didn’t hear you mention them. Just heard freightliner & Peterbilts… & also did they still make you go out with a trainer even with experience?
@DylanLear16 күн бұрын
They did not when I was with them. And no they did not. I am not sure what their policy is but after a certain amount of experience you are good to go after orientation.

Do you rely on the speaker built onto the radio? I am soon getting a 2025 Cascadia and I hope to be able to install the external speaker onto it
@DylanLearАй бұрын
Yes, i only relied on the built in speaker but it was enough
@MrWill1985Ай бұрын
@@DylanLear I figured out how to install the external speaker in my 2025 Cascadia. I used heavy velcro and attached it to the bottom of the shelf above the cb to the right of the cb. I find external speakers to have better sound quality. Too bad freightliner doesn't have them built in like Kenworth and Peterbilt do on newer models

@DylanLear3 ай бұрын
From what I have seen, the pay is a bit lower with them but they might get stop pay or something since most of the loads there are LTL. Otherwise its the same equipment and they have alot of terminals as well but can use the KLLM ones as well.
