In 40+ years never been asked for an onward ticket. You're just saying stuff. More paranoid garbage. Never had my bags inspected. Take it easy mate. You're inventing drama that doesn't exist.

Proof on onward travel is required if flying into Thailand on a one-way flight they are just rarely enforced, so i won't tell people not to have one. I am happy for you that you never had bags inspected, would you know if they had? and would you fill it with banned items? I was not going to put flammable paints or glues in there that are banned anyway. I'm avoiding drama for those watching, inventing nothing. Thank you for your opinion and sharing your experience.

i guess you didnt catch the story behind the broken bridge. A couple of years ago all of the contestants for Miss Thailand visited the place and yes they all stood on the bridge and it broke sending them into the water. It was great publicity for the place for the place thats why they kept the remains of it. There is a great picture in the restuarant of a load of wet ladies.

The word 'retirement' is used, but it is NOT retirement. It should be called a 'scam' visa. Retirement, in other countries actually, really means "RETIREMENT". In the Philippines, it is done once, ... "one time", then you can retire, without 90 day 'reporting', that's for convicts on parole. And not having to do it every year, because that's Thai bullsh*t. All those freelance agents, making a killing, with the Immigration staff 'on the take'. Also in the Philippines, that money in the bank, as part of the requirement, after 6 months of qualificatoon, can be used in the Philippines, even for the unencumbered purchase of property, entirely in your own name, not the "Thai wife" industry. As a a retiree, you can come and go from the Philippines just as local citizen does. It's done, you're in, so you relax, and enjoy retirement. IT'S DONE! .. In Thailand, it means they've got their hooks into you, Sicily has the Mafia. Thailand just call it something else. No quarter given to the elderly. Slip up and you're out. It's an annual game with 90 day parole reporting.

In most ways you are correct ! Unfortunately I don't want to live in the Philippines, I love it here in Thailand and just have to go with it. Thanks for your comparison/ opinion.

I live in Bangkok and use a visa agent for my retirement visa renewals. Cost 1X,XXX baht, don't need funds in the bank or 65,000 baht per month. I send them 2 pics, copies of whatever they want, no forms to fill in (they do that for me). About 2 weeks later, I received my passport back with a nice new shiny visa in it. Life is grand.

Nope, I’m wrong again, I was thinking Coles back in the day they had a butcher department. We met you at the Assist Visa office a few weeks ago…. Now we’ll be living there in October and can’t wait to start our new life. We bought a new house in SAN Patong, can’t own the land but it’s ours for the next 30 years times 3 and we’ll be long gone. Do the maths and we’d have spent that in rent plus we’ll always need a home for our dogs now and other rescue ones

Also, can you explain or talk about how you manage to transfer money over to a Thai bank if you are already in Thailand. In the UK, whenever I need to transfer money over to wise, they send me a text with a code to confirm but if I decide to move to Thailand, how do you overcome this problem? Grateful for any advise you can give.

Setup biosecurity in wise. Then your fingerprint confirms you. You won't get a text message. I transfer cash from my aussie bank to wise then from wise to my thai bank account.

Nice video on the bike. May I ask, if the bike is a rental, did you have to buy extra insurance to cover yourself in case of all outcomes? or is the rental covered even if you caused the accident? I am planning to go out there and I may rent a bike too but just need to be sure how the insurance works.. thanx Peter.
