Wurde viele Jahre lang zum besten Hotel der Welt gewählt - bis die Araber ihre Luxuspaläste gebaut haben. Kenne selber nur die Hotelbar und eines der Restaurants auf der anderen Seite des Flusses - das hat schon was, Tradition und Geschichte pur! Hotelzimmer sind kaum unter 1'000 $ pro Nacht zu bekommen, daher ausserhalb meines Budgets....

We stayed here in 2022 and were blessed to get a free upgrade to the second biggest suite. It was the apartment of Madame de Staël, the daughter of Jacques Necker who served as finance minister for Louis XVI. One of the best experiences of my life! 👑 Royal treatment which included the king’s table at dinner. Worth every penny!

Couldn’t afford to stay but I could afford the hot chocolate in the wood paneled bar. It was the best! And, a gorgeous setting. It was a great place to relax and read when I was attending UNIL.

We have stayed here. 4 Star at best. Rooms are really old and in urgent need to repair, service is so so. Trading on it's past reputation I would say.

Stayed there. It is an old dump. I arrived at 800PM and ordered a hamburger from room service. It was delivered RAW. A housekeeper left a trash bag outside my room, and no one picked it up for 24 hours. No plugs or outlets. I had to move the bed to find one plug. Staff could care less about even smiling. 100% rip off. It is an old hotel. The room was worn out.

Can you buy the Stande hotel in Rangoon, and the Hotel InLe Lake, Sanctum and also build a Delano where the Inle lake is in Rangoon, with the Pillers & the Billowing white curtains, and Blue Door, and Asia de Cuba someWhere in town, with 13 locations in Burma

Its a shame that they haven't (to my knowledge) produced a documentary about the Dorchester. No doubt people will have seen Claridges, Savoy and the Ritz etc... But would be great to see a year in the life documentary about the place!
