Hey! Thanks for your question. :) I do feel like this could tell you a bit about bodily stress (though not very directly). A better and more affordable way to test stress would be to do an at-home salivary coritisol test. You can essentially measure the stress hormone cortisol in your spit. You're so awesome!!! Very pretty too and you look so young and healthy!!! I've started walking my Giant Schnauzers in the am 6 miles.. Will do strength training mid day most days as I watch my stocks and the financial markets... In the late afternoon I run 7 miles solo. Gives me about 13 miles or 27,000 steps!!! It's really changed my Life in so many positive ways!!!! I've been doing it for 3 weeks. Finding that I sometimes need mid-day nap but most of the time I can maintain this schedule without many recovery days... About to do my run!!! But thank you for the great content and inspiration!!! : )

Walking 7 miles a day since college (about 30+ years)! It's how I stay fit, eat anything I want, and keep a clear head. Truly!! I haven't even owned a car since my early 20s. If I don't walk I just take the bus, Lyft, or Uber.

Thanks for sharing! I would say these tools can offer a “guesstimation” of your metabolic flexibility. It’s not going to be the same as a respiratory exchange ratio (RER) lab test because they only measure co2, not co2 and oxygen. And the co2 level is a proxy for what metabolic state you’re in. But it can still give you some indication of your metabolic flexibility. It’s not complete BS. And I did find it helpful to identify a few behaviors that help me wake up in a “fat burning state” aka lower CO2. For me personally, this is usually an indication that my body is relaxed, not stressed, slept well. But I generally think this tool is not very useful for people just starting out on their health journey. The information is not necessary to get fit. It was just an example of a tool you can use to get to know your body even better. I love experimenting with these kinds of things. :) X Robin

I’ve been using a weighted vest that I bought from Big 5. The vest has removable weights, I bought it several years ago, & use it every day. At first I wore it loose, but after wearing it for a while. It seems to feel better with wearing it tighter around the chest & waist. Wearing it this way it doesn’t bounce while walking. Before buying one TRY it on, & make sure it’s comfortable. You don’t want it to bounce on your body. You’ll get a better fit, if it becomes part of your body. I wear a T shirt under the weighted vest, then I wear a hoodie or sweat shirt over it, otherwise it looks like I’m wearing some type of tactical vest. Go walk, job, or run, move ;-) enjoy life. Wear GOOD shoes, you don’t want to mess up your feet.

Ummm omg I LOVE this. I went on a two week road trip which was amazing-but also reminded me how much I love being outside and moving. I live near a park with rose gardens and since i got back, I’ve taken walks almost every day and my mood has improved dramatically. And I’m an active person. I wasn’t going from nothing to something. I weight train a minimum of twice a week and I do calisthenics, and when I watch my favorite anime or movies I usually hop on my exercise bike, which I still enjoy. But I totally relate to always wanting to be outside and running around! Makes me super happy and grounded 😊

GREAT video, thank you! I began walking 3 miles a day at age 15, and at 35 I really got into it DAILY, without fail, which lead me to a very fit, toned, slim, tall, healthy body, and people often mentioned my great posture. Now, at age 60, I love your video to uplift me, since I had a hip injury in a fall, on a step in the rain, on Maui in 2018, it was painted, but with no non-slip gritty stuff added, so 5 years of pain in every step has made my DEEP love for walking really hard. I walked a mile to the beach today, and it took me an hour and 10 minutes! Oh, well, at least I got there, and then walked barefoot across the freezing, rain-drenched beach in the Outer Hebrides, in Scotland, where I moved 7 months ago, from Maui, Hawaii. It is beautiful here for walks, as I love extreme weather, thanks to my good clothes! Thanks for the inspiration! I like to sing songs I write when I walk for lung exercise, too! Cheers, Aloha, Claire

I started rucking last Autumn with an 5 kg dumbbell in a rucksack. I slowly increased this to 12.5 kg in a rucksack. At that point my life coach and I felt I was ready for a weighted vest. I thought I could happily use 11.2 kg in the vest ( frustratingly the iron bricks in it are 1.121 kg not just 1 kg which would make it simpler). I immediately found it was harder work and aggravated an issue with my left hamstring. I have since been out with the vest with 6.7kg and that was much easier. Instead of having weights sitting on my chest I only put them in the bottom row so I could breathe more easily. Initially I was worried I had bought the wrong thing but the second walk reassured me. I am amazed you started with 30 pounds but I guess you were fitter than me to start with.

♥ - My lesson in 2024 is on how much a weekly, monthly and quarterly review helps ground me and keep me focused on my goals. Smart lightbulbs are an excellent way to modernize a home. Lighting is essential, and the ability to adjust the temperature and brightness using voice commandds or a smartphone has been transformative. Additionally, investing in smart LED strips, particularly for under cabinets or desks, can create a pleasant ambient atmosphere. Beyond that, adding more plants is always a great idea 🌱

❤ So far in 2024, my lesson is to prioritize the basics: sleep, clean eating, long walks, gratitude, good talks with friends - all of this is the foundation for physical equilibrium and mental clarity needed to create my art and keep inspiring others to do theirs. It's something I know, but to put it into practice is a hard won lesson after a scary bout of burn out I'm still climbing out of. I just loved your skin care video, that's how I found you. I hate videos like this with a passion. They all claim these millions of products helped with their rosacea LOL & she show's her $300 damn dollar IPL device. Instead of spending all that money on those skincare products and crazy expensive IPL devices you could literally go get yourself Soolantra 1% or Rosiver 1% if you're in canada which is what i use. Ivermectin is literally the only thing thats going to help you and if you truly wanted laser then go book an appointment and get an IPL laser done and it'll be cheaper than buying a 300 damn dollar device. Get it done professionaly. I will tell you right now. NOTHING will help with rosacea except for ivermectin topical cream. I've been using it for exactly 30 days now and my skin is finally looking amazing. i dont have "glass skin" because that doesnt exist but i finally cured my rosacea after 3 years of suffering & things are only going to get better because you have to be consistent with ivermectin topical cream so let's see how my skin looks by week 12 or so. it's only been 30 days. So do yourselves a favor and go get ivermectin

Hi there! Thank you for sharing. Even if you despise these sorts of videos, you’ve left a helpful comment here and there are great discussions going on. I think that’s a plus. :) I’m so glad ivermectin works for you! I’d love to try it and I’m going to see if I can get my hands on some. It’s only available with prescription, which makes it a little less accessible. My intention with this video was to share what’s been working for me. Right now, I’m personally loving tretinoin (which I get through Agency) and zinc face basting. As I mention several times in this video, it’s up to each of us to find our own ideal routine. I’m glad you’ve found yours. ❤️ and I appreciate you adding this great tip to the conversation. Xo Robin

@@TheScienceofSelfCare Im sorry if i sounded rude but i think people should seriously watch out for things like Tretinoin. When i got rosacea 3 years ago doctors thought i had normal acne and they prescribed me benzoyl peroxide/ adapalene/ Tretinoin/ Salicylic acid & things like accutane (which i didnt try thank god) that absolutely destroyed my skin and made my skin worse and i had to literally do my own research to find out what was happening with my skin. I finally came across rosacea and thought okay im going to try Ivermectin 1% topical cream & guess what? IT WORKED! Things like tretinoin are absolutely not for rosacea & those other ingredients i listed. They are for normal acne or aging skin. Rosacea is completely different and for that you need ivermectin and also azelaid acid which i havent tried yet but maybe one day i will. People with rosacea should NOT be applying harsh things like tretinoin it will irritate your skin & make things 100x worse. Im glad you found something that works for your skin type though ❤

Hey there! Thanks for sharing some more context and thoughts. I genuinely appreciate it. I think it’s important for everyone reading and watching to keep in mind that rosacea can have so many causes and that there are many different types of rosacea. Ivermectin, for example seems to work especially well with papulopustular rosacea. Not sure how well it will work for me, but I’d still love to test! I can completely relate to the experience of “good” products (like AHA’s and BHA’s) destroying my skin. I honestly hate trying new skincare and do try to keep things very simple. Tretinoin is actually doing great things for me. It was prescribed to me as a treatment for rosacea (it is a relatively low dose). There are studies that show tretinoin can actually improve rosacea in some cases, but I agree that people should proceed with caution (and under the guidance of an expert-which I am not). All in all, rosacea - like many things - is a personal journey that requires a bit of experimentation. I’m really keen to see if ivermectin will help tame the remaining redness in my cheeks! In general, I’m pretty happy with where I’ve gotten my rosacea so far. A big factor for me is also managing my gut health… which has nothing to do with my topical skincare routine. :) Anywhoooo, enough yapping from me. Thanks again for sharing. xo

@@TheScienceofSelfCare I would suggest Azelaic Acid 15% prescription or Ivermectin 1% but keep in mind ivermectin is more expensive than azelaic acid so get a prescription for azelaic acid and try that first. Good luck your skin looks great be careful with tretinoin.
