Still morning here in "sunny" Las Vegas. It's 10:55 at the time I am watching. No outside work today. I made up for it last Thursday when I mowed my front yard in the heat of the afternoon - it was in the shade of the big tree in front of my house however. On the subject of that hard drive, yesterday I first wrote a bunch of data to the exact same model of drive that I attached to my old HP ENVY 700-327c desktop. So far so good. If it messes up later I will let you know.

I will also note that I have been using 2TB WD Passport portable drives without any trouble for quite a few years. I used to be able to buy them at Costco. Then Costco switched to carrying 5TB Seagate OneTouch portable drives. They seem to be ok so far. Then Costco stopped carrying any portable USB drives in their warehouses. Now for portable USB drives, I am making my own from ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD enclosures ($24.99 on Amazon) and Silicon Power 4TB US75 NVMe Gen4x4 M.2 2280 SSDs ($214.99 on Amazon). Thats more expensive than a WD 5TB Elements portable hard drive ($128.61 on Amazon) but much faster.

I don't know why mine didn't work right. Could just be my computer. Idk could just be my bad luck. Gotta find something different.

I've had good luck with Crucial memory, although that was quite a few years ago. I also have a 2TB P3 Plus NVMe drive in my new build just for storing projects on and it is working well. I wanted to put a 2TB drive in my old desktop but it has to be SATA, so I bought a cheap drive and just installed it. It is the 2000GB Crucial BX500, the exact drive you were talking about. I haven't used it much yet, so I'll have to see how it goes. I suspect I better work it pretty hard while it is still under warranty from Crucial. Thanks for the information Rick.

I did it a lot before the pandemic started. I was going up to Pine River at lest one or twice in one summer. That alone is 60 some miles there and back. I was tired but it was well worth it.

FYI: Water can be used to extinguish lithium-ion battery fires, but it can take a large amount of water and time. The goal is to cool the battery and stop thermal runaway. However, even after a lithium-ion battery fire is extinguished with water, it can reignite on its own for up to 24 hours later. Plain water also doesn't eliminate the flammable gases and explosive vapors that burning lithium-ion batteries emit, which can be dangerous for first responders and civilians.

Catching up on this video that I missed. Watching to see where the house was torn down. You're right, it was completely cleaned up. That is a nice park too. If someone asks you why you are talking to yourself, just say that you want to have an intelligent conversation. That's what I used to tell my wife.
