I agree completely. On the other hand, there are people out there that are the type of drivers that will break anything right out of the box. I found the 2997a to be as durable as the omni and also breaks less parts at once because rather than a ton of parts. The 2997 has impressive flex more than any other care I have ever seen. The 2997a flex causes the impact to be deflected and due to the lightweight nature of the 2997a crashing is easier on the chassis and arms themselves. HBX uses better quality plastic than the rlaarlo omni terminator. I would say the rlaarlo is built pretty well for how long it lasted during the bashing that was recorded and I also would expect any RC to break after this test.

I would say since anything would break at this point the car could be considered durable I can't see a K8 surviving this either. I had a RC8Be that i bashed harder back in the than in this test without breaking anything for the longest time, I got lots of runs out of it before anything broke. That was built tougher than most RC vehicles I see today.

Yeah, well that's the downside to bashing really isn't it. But lots of people love doing it. Crawling is what I enjoy most, but I can't deny sending things full speed up a skate ramp is actually quite fun! 🤣😬 Do you mean changing your TRX4 gearbox?

I've ran them both separately in lots of water and mud. TRX4M is waterproof out the box, FCX18 is fine in water if you delete the power switch. 👍

@@DoURC Thank’s mate I do now that I have open, another thing : I put metal diff FMS and they don’t work properly even the metal gear, I have to put back the plastic to make go in 1 and second gear, either metal only 2nd gear… you have that problem???

@@DoURC yes, all perfect mount! No way I contact FMS and ask them why, after I tell you. If you have to change don’t buy the metal gears only but all the metal gear assembly they sell online and is 100 time better than change the metal wheel…

@@DoURC You can bash and have fun in other ways without breaking or bashing it like a maniac so there are other reasons that could be fun to own one than bashing. I built a small track with ramps and 4x shoddy bridges + piles of boxes in my house ignoring wife to see if I can climb it all the way around. You can take them through different terrain like grassy rolling hills those are the funnest. You can put a FPV camera on it and a long range RC link drive it FAR away on a recon mission to drop an egg McMuffin to your neighbors property. I sent my rlaarlo 3 miles into the Tillamook forest and back on recon to check where the abandoned logging trails went. Sometimes i'll send it down overgrown eroded and swamped logging trails where there is tons of mud, puddles, boulders and things to climb I've gotten out to close to 3 miles through hell and back. They have many uses, in my case, I use it as a tool. I can't send a drone through the density of a forest otherwise i'd use a fpv quad and the quads can't see down into the forest so the rlaarlo serves it's purpose. You can have fun in many ways with them not just bashing.

@@DoURC thanks, because I was thinking that too. In the wpl you cant open the doors, you cant control headlights exc. But is more beautiful to look at. The mn is better cause it can do all of these and some more. So I'm going to buy mn82 and mn78

Sounds like a good idea. I definitely find it more manageable than the stock trx4m slow speed control which is good. Shame it wasn't a little slower out the box, as its definitely more a rock crawler than trail rig. 👍

I haven't tried the FX118 Katana, but if you look at it, I believe they share the same Hobbyplus chassis and Furitek electronics. So really the only difference is the wheels, tyres and body. Personally I'd choose the CR18P Evo Pro over the Katana. The Katana to me is like a kind of middle ground to scale and performance but I'm not fussed on the look. 👍
