Our life has been crazy from our newlywed days and we just make it work!!! Our June we have been working on our international move as after the comps coming up we want to move before January!!! My kids have been doing a bit of math and we do Bible as a family!!! We love Atlanta, GA!!! Our homeschool days haven’t been longer than 30 mins in June!!! My oldest may have a super sr year as he’s a jr and probably needs an extra yr!!! We had 2 units for HBL so we did that in June!!! I filed away the Flashcards from it!!! Me and my teenage daughter have been learning bread making!!! We still have to finish science history in the coming school year as we didn’t get to the modern times and it’s not affecting my kids who need to learn it!!!

I've finally accepted that life is nuts! 🤣🤪 Sounds like you guys are enjoying summer and still getting a few things done which sounds perfect to me! Bread making is a blast! We love it around here as well. We only do yeast bread so far, but the tough to try sour dough is forming. LOL. Thanks for sharing!

While we plan to homeschool year round, we've been relaxed about it this summer. Taking weeks off from curriculum before starting the next level and just taking it day by day. I keep finding more things I want to add for when we do officially start our year sometime in September. I'm going to stop looking for curriculum and focus more on self-care for the next couple of months so that I"m prepared for when things start ramping up.

How you evaluate?? Where get the assessment??
@HomeschoolologyКүн бұрын
We have a fellow homeschool mom who is a certified teacher who does our evacuations. It can be any Florida certified teacher, so if you know someone they can do it. If not a simple search in a local homeschool group can help you find someone. If not, my evaluator does online evaluations. Email me if you would like her information.
@emiliamaria07182 күн бұрын
How do you do homeschool without private or umbrella?? Do you have to do the evaluation?? What if you até certified teacher?? Does that count as a professional growth development??
@HomeschoolologyКүн бұрын
In the state of Florida you either have to test, or have a portfolio reviewed by a Florida certified teacher. We have a fellow homeschool mom that is one, so she does our evaluations. But anyone with an active Florida certificate can do it for you. I believe that if you are a certified teacher than you can submit your own verifications, but I'm not 100% sure. My certificate had expired by the time we were ready to do evaluations. I my not sure about your last questions either. In our county there is a person in charge of all homeschooling at the school board. I would try making a phone call to your county school board to get those answers. Hope that was helpful!

Yes! I use it very open and go now. Year 1 I do kind of have to look ahead at the beginning of each week and decide which activities we may want to do but having all the "extras" in one binder makes it super easy to just grab that and my teacher manual and go. I highly recommend.

I am starting my unschooling journey with my children going into 3rd and kindergarten I'm so confused. 🫣 I'm in Fl. So I need to right a letter for each child and then how do I register and what's the best programs for simple curriculum. I'm so lost I want to best for my kids but I'm starting to get overwhelmed 😕 scared I'm gonna do something wrong
@Homeschoolology16 күн бұрын
Filling your letter of intent is step 1! Once you do that your only requirement is that you have a portfolio reviewed each year. Keeping a few examples of work from the beginning, middle, and end of each year. Keeping a record/log of what you use curriculum wise, activities, field trips, etc. And a reading list. That's it for the portfolio! Yiu need a certified teacher to review it.

@@Homeschoolology you’re welcome! They have a pay monthly for the ebook option that is very reasonable. Plus it goes from starting to write to 12th grade. Also has grammar.
