I don't think he's doing anything special with his wrist. I think its his body position plus bringing his elbow in to his side. At the start of the backswing, when the ball gets up to his hips he is facing forward and his forearm is also facing forward toward the head pin. Then he starts bending over, but at a 45 degree angle to the pins, so his torso is facing the pins 3 lanes to the right. At the start of the downswing, he begins to jam his elbow into his hip, which it turn forces his forearm to point 3 lanes to the right. His hand is still behind the ball, if he was trying to throw it 3 lanes over. But relative to the pins in front of him he is now way on the inside of the ball. Now he simply swings out to the target and any kind of decent "release" is going to generate all those revs. Just saying, because this worked for me a couple of weeks ago. Not nearly as severe, but bringing my elbow in to my side on the downswing increased my revs by around 50%

People think bowling is easy but when you watch him bowl and you see all the different release locations all over the lane, you see that it comes down to execution. And he is the best

With your 300 you used the methods used in "The Inner Game of Tennis". I recommend it for anyone for any sport. Great information.

why would you drill the finger right in the plug knowing it's going to crack being a 2 finger bowler that tracks towards the fingers?

I followed your 5 tips and in my second game I got 5 strikes and 2 spares. The first game I got one spare learning the technique. Once I settled down and just rolled it easily with the hooking technique on the right side of the lane, The ball was hooking nicely for the second game. Thank you. I just bowl maybe 5 times a year and could never hook the ball. I watched your video a couple of times.

Yeah I had a 300 and 800 drought for about 4-5 years but everything clicked again and in the last month and a half I’ve bowled 2 300s and 3 800 series all sanctioned of course, so keep your head up you’ll get it!

The hardest part is on the wrist. Because i have a weak wrist i cant lift the ball while keeping a good form so i have to compensate by bending my elbow but then i don't generate much velocity.

You don’t need to use your wrist you load with your forearm and let everything unload …
@procrastinator6902
@procrastinator6902 15 күн бұрын
@@nicholasdurham7608Your wrist needs to be cupped and behind the ball, the snap of suddenly straightening it out and rotating your hand gives the ball revolutions. It is possible to let the ball hang down from your hand and use just the fingers to push off with, but that doesn't give you good revs at all and is the style more commonly used by women.
