THANK YOU for zooming out so we can see more of the windshield! It's so cool to watch the damage progression as it happens, but too few people ever think to zoom out so we can see everything, so we miss out on that. So, thank you!

Living in Iowa, that is one of the stupidest Iowans there is, driving into that, risk your vehicle and your safety, thank God you didn’t cause or have an accident that would have put first responders in danger because you want to be the cool one. Well your not cool.

At :22, you can see an overpass coming up. Seeing that the hail had just started and was getting heavier, the smart thing to do would have been to pull over and stop under the overpass and wait for the hail to stop.

If they were, they would have exited that highway and taken a left, where it looks like the heart of the storm. Also, funny that the video cuts out the overpass section of the video. Why?

IF, He would have stopped like all the other experienced Drivers the wind shield would not have broken. Because the car would have not been traveling fast thru the hail the impact would not have been so severe.

At the same time, moving at a medium pace is recommended. Gets you out of the hail core faster than if you sat like a duck asking to be pelted. Now, that doesn't mean continue core-punching, but try to get out of it. Stopping also creates a hazard for you and possibly others, especially on highways.

You are right. I highly doubt he would have broken the windshield. And yes, hitting hail at 40 mph has more impact than hitting it at 5 mph.

It would have to stick out a long ways. It there car was stopped I doubt it would have cracked the first time. That was bit baseball size hail. Mayve golf ball size. Blessings

Need a good windshield sturdy cover or a big tree to hide under. April 15th, 2023 thunderstorms near Rolla, Missouri produced large hail rated near tennis balls--think that's like 2.5 inches diameter.
