Women are more likely to get Alzheimer’s than men, and the shocking truth is that it starts in your brain decades before the first symptom!
Sound the alarm and grab a seat, you’re going to need all the time and determination you have to start changing the habits that have been doing more harm than good on your brain health.
Dr. Daniel Amen, founder of Amen Clinics has scanned brains from all over the world and has one of the largest databases of brain imaging anywhere. He’s scanned brains of A-list celebrities and thought leaders such as Justin Beiber, Jay Shetty, his wife Radhi, and even Lisa’s homie Mel Robbins.
In the next hour you’re going to walk away better than ever armed with the knowledge you need to start examining which habits you have that are destroying your brain health:
Why you’re at greater risk for anxiety and depression thanks to the emotional side of your brain
Using your woman super power to be all over the place doing everything may actually be undiagnosed A.D.H.D. that is killing your orgasms.
What you can do with 5 minutes a day to start falling in love with your brain.
Dr. Amen is a psychiatrist that has been helping people recover from traumatic brain injury, emotional trauma, childhood trauma, addiction and more. The female brain has developments and experiences unique to women that men do not. Understanding that difference alone is life changing.
Check out Dr. Amen’s New Book: Change Your Brain Every Day: www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Br...
QUOTES:
“If you are blessed to live to be 85 or older you have a one in two chance of having dementia or having lost your mind, [...] and Alzheimer’s disease starts in your brain decades before you have any symptoms.”
“Your brain is involved with every decision that you make. It’s the organ of loving, learning, and behaving. And when it works right, you tend to work right.”
“I love my mind, but it’s a trouble maker.”
“It’s the undisciplined mind that’s driving the epidemic of teenage depression.”
“Every part of your brain you don’t use becomes less active over time.”
“Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary feeling.”

I think we should pursue for a 'Fulfilling life' instead of happy life. Happiness and sadness are both fleeting everyday. You could be happy in the morning but sad in the evening or the other way around because both are product of situations, emotions, circumstances and we will face every minute of it throughout our lives. Therefore if your only goal in life is just to have a happy life, well good luck with that, cause life will get quite miserable quickly. Also there is no meaning to happiness without a dose of sadness. Both are parties in one coin. So, instead live a life that is filled with goal, sacrifice, contribution, collaboration and contentment, that way in the end you will have lived a more full-filled life and happy too. And fulfilled life come from facing challanges of life, not running away easy from it. Our life's were never meant to be easy or it will never be easy. We will always struggle one way or other. So, let not our goal is just to fixate on a happy life, instead accept both happiness and sadness a parcel of our life and still stand tall, that way we would have lived a more fulfilled life.

I don’t know what they have done to the weed of today but I have witnessed marijauana addiction have a profoundly devastating effect on several of my loved ones. The amazing thing is that they seem to be under the effect of “medication spellbinding” and they can not perceive any of the negative effects that it is having on them and their relationships. From their perspective, they think it’s helping them with their anxiety or other ailments. I personally believe that if you need a mind altering substance just to have the strength to make it through the day, you’ve got work to do. Marijuana is a bandaid that’s actually keeping the wound festering. This country is in total denial about the harmful effects of marijuana.

With a busy lifestyle, full time job, social life, housekeeping, I try my best to exercise at least once a week. I manage twice a week. My goal is minimum 3 times a week ideally 5 but it seems so unrealistic 😢 also getting organised ( just packing my bag or getting dressed) takes so much mental charge out of me (I learned on YT could be linked to my ADHD) but I’d like to find a system that works. I think I’d have to sacrifice many things

@@maggysday read Atomic Habits by James Clear. You have too many obstacles in the way of your exercise. Make it simpler, make it easier. Don’t have to pack a bag if you workout at home. Or prepack your bag the night before. You can get in a killer workout in 20 minutes, just go hard. Lack of time isn’t an excuse if the workout is short enough. Consistency always beats intensity.

“IMO”, I think what we need to understand is that “marriage” isn’t the problem, but rather the ideologies we bring in it and the people we try to do it with. A woman/man who has met someone who is unselfish, loves them and values them in no way will find their lives span cut short due to what’s mentioned in the above video. Similarly, a single women who has not valued herself can find hers cut down significantly.

Taking care of our Brains seems such a dire priority, thank you for this video. I noticed the first scientist presented the theory that „thoughts precede emotions” as though it’s an unquestiomable scientifically confirmed truth, while the field of psychology has debated what triggers which first, , „thought or emotion” for decades. Another thing, differences between genders depending on gender is not clear for researchers as both scientists put forth.

Thoughts are Spiritual Conversations. WORDS are the Window Through Which Thoughts become actions. Actions are Manifested Motives. Thoughts trigger Emotions. Emotions are the Language of the SOUL. Emotions emit a Frequency called Feelings. Feelings are the Language of Frequency. Emotions regulate Mood. Mood mitigates what a person is motivated to do. When you feed a woman's SOUL, she surrenders her body. When you feed a Man's Spirit, He surrenders His Will. One's Will is the Key to the door of the SOUL. One's Will is the Power to Overcome/ Conquer. Agreement is the Fruit of WILLINGNESS. Agreement occurs when two WILLS CONNECT.

Only thing I will say by telling his audience if the parent fails to treat their kids with meds for ADD/ADHD that it is effectively ‘neglect’ I find this very provocative, judgemental and an un objective rationale from a professional. There are a lot of other professionals who state the opposite opinion. It’s a complex problem to which we still don’t understand the full implications of the nature or treatment of. Parents often try to do the right thing they can by their kids. Turning to routine prescriptions should be a last resort when dealing with growing brains.

In 3rd Asian world countries in the rural-traditional-poor sections and in rural Mediterranean poor section of these countries, women of all ages do not get dementia or ALZHEIMER because they only use ORGANIC coconut oil made on the same day in the traditional way or a few days ago up to within a week and they only use ORGANIC olive oil made on the same day in the traditional way or a few days ago up to within a week. Nothing added and it is not adulterated and are REAL FOODS OR NATURAL FOODS. Sugar? It is only consumed as a once a week or as a week end treat IN A VERY SMALL AMOIUNT and that's that. But in the highly urbanized and modernized sections-areas of the same country(ies) the story is way opposite to that of the healthier and safer rural traditional poorer areas that cannot afford the luxuries of sugary foods or junk foods or fast foods or commercial foods or so-called health foods which are HIGHLY OVER-PROCESSED FOODS and are not natural organic unadulterated foods which are all the opposite of REAL FOODS OR NATURAL FOODS. However, even in some poor rural traditional areas and sections in the same countries there are entrepreneurs who are setting up stores selling HIGHLY OVER-PROCESSED "UNNATURAL FOODS" that the healthy dietary traditional ORGANIC REAL FOODS are in danger of being ignored because of DECEPTIVE ADVERTISEMENTS by these rotten Big Food Corporations who does not care about people's health and only care about their money!

Wow, I have NEVER heard that birth control pills drop serotonin. I wonder what the mechanism is by which it does that? Does that apply to HRT as well? Because essentially HRT is low dose birth control hormones. Same hormones really.

@Louise Corrans actually, estrogen helps in all these various ways so he's not an expert on women's hormones I will tell you that!

@michellecd4722 I would have thought so, I have done a ton of research into HRT (I'm in perimenopause) and you are so right! I have even documented my journey a bit here on KZfaq. Yes he definitely isn't an expert in hormones, neither in diet...he has some iffy diet advice too. Most of it is sound, but not all of it.

1:20:40 I’d really like to know what research’s been done on the causes of the difference in lifespan between men and women. I assume part of it is down to women being more risk averse in general (less dangerous occupations, less likely to do stupid things!) but there should probably be more done to reduce the gap in old age (e.g. men are more likely to bury their head in the sand and not go to the doctor). It’s not like women wouldn’t benefit from a reduction in this mortality age gap either. I’m sure most women in their later years would prefer their husbands to last a bit longer!

A woman's pituitary is damaged during pregnancy so don't have children. That should help. The stress of raising children can't possibly help either. After all, most men don't deserve children. I also suggest eating moderate protein and high animal fat for awhile.... absolutely nothing else. Drink only water.
@emkay4960

That's pretty sexist and misandrist to say most men don't deserve children. Men are individuals, just like women. It's every bit as bad as making vicious blanket statements about women.
