Just in case you're interested in homemade energy bars/trail mix: Take oats, your favorite fruit (peaches, pineapple, plums... etc) throw it in a blender with your favorite nuts and blend it until the nuts are a little larger than sand. Take the mixture and shape it into bars put them on a cookie sheet and cook at 150 Fahrenheit until they're solid. Let them cool or freeze them and chow down whenever you need a snack.

How much POF and fruit to use? Just wanting to get some measurements for the oats and fruit thank you! :-) Sounds awesome
@jaspr19996 жыл бұрын
FlyToBeach - I usually add fruit to the blender until it has the consistency of very thick oatmeal so it won't lose its shape when I form it into bars. Since different ingredients absorb moisture more than others it's hard to give an exact amount. So, just go off the really thick oatmeal until you find what is right for you. Myself, I use a whole peach for a cup of oats, walnuts, and pecans. I also use one 3x3 honeycomb instead of a peach with the same nuts and oats. I hope that helps.

You shouldn't advertise high calorie count as something bad. Calories by themselves aren't bad. So something having 200 calories is fine. Also countless studies show that doses of aspartame used in soda drinks are negligable and have absolutely no bad effect on human health.
@TheNewAgeViking6 жыл бұрын
GTCrais thank you, I was looking through the comments, hoping someone would point this out.
@chewchewpark47866 жыл бұрын
I agree. Over abundance of calories, especially empty calories, is bad. I also disagree with the aspartame.. sorta. The amount in an individual soda might be negligible, the amount of soda drink (including as I used to) is stupidly huge.
@GTCrais6 жыл бұрын
You could never drink enough soda for aspartame to have a bad effect on you, because the amount of sugar you'd consume by doing that would kill you much, much sooner.
@chewchewpark47866 жыл бұрын
GTCrais diet soda doesn’t use sugar for a sweetener though, it uses aspartame.
@Ikajo6 жыл бұрын
GTCrais That would depend I guess. I can't drink or eat anything with aspartame without feeling extremely nauseous. Not to mention that artificial sweeteners tend to trick the body, releasing insulin. Which makes you hungry.

Coconut oil is actually much better for you. First of all, there is no such thing as bad cholesterol, that was put out by the drug companies. LDL is the cholesterol that many of your hormones are made from, it is just that the level of LDL should be lower than HDL. Coconut oil is also processed differently than other oils, it is processed in the liver like a carbohydrate. It's very good for you

Brian Corvello never drink OJ if you are stuffed up. OJ actually helps produce mucus. Also, if you have a girlfriend, pineapple juice makes it taste sweeter. 😂

@ep616115 жыл бұрын
Cholesterol is a life-saving substance that is greatly misunderstood by the medical profession (and consequently, by those who believe doctors to be demi-gods). Has no one ever questioned why cholesterol deposits form only in the high-pressure arteries and not in the lower pressure veins (or is no one educated this far)? If the presumption that cholesterol arbitrarily forms in the vessels for no specific reason were to be believed as true, surely someone could explain this odd behavior of physics. When you understand cholesterol, it isn't odd at all. The first and foremost thing to understand is why water is so abundant in the body and why it is so important. Water regulates every function in the body - and by "function", I include even the least thought-about actions and events that occur in the body such as transporting nutrients to the cells and moving from one area to another when another function places a demand on water that otherwise wouldn't be available to perform that function. There are so many things that go on in the body that people would never think about and yet, each one is controlled by water. THIS is why water is so important and why it is vitally necessary to stay properly hydrated. A lack of water affects every last one of the functions - such as the formation of cholesterol and the reason it forms. Adults lose an average of 2 quarts of water every day through normal body functions as breathing (around 1 quart is lost here alone - as water vapor when you exhale), kidney function, regulating body temperature through the evaporation process, and disposing of waste. Most people try to replace this with water substitutes ("fluids" that doctors advise drinking) - but "fluids" do not function like water in the body because there is no substitute for water. Blood is 94% water. When you get dehydrated it loses 8% of its water volume, and because the water in the blood is full of metabolic waste, the blood tends to thicken. During its passage through the lungs before reaching the arteries, it loses even more water through the above-mentioned water vapor. This thick, toxic blood is then forced through the arteries under s shearing pressure that causes minute tears and abrasions in the tissues. To prevent the tissues from peeling and causing embolisms that get carried in the bloodstream to the brain or other vital organ, cholesterol forms to cover and protect the damaged tissues like a waterproof bandage until they can be repaired. When the medical profession prescribes medication to lower the cholesterol, it creates an unending cycle in which the cholesterol is removed, then it reforms, then it is removed again, then reforms, etc. Each time the cholesterol is removed it exposes the damaged tissues to the toxic environment that caused the problem in the first place, resulting in the body doing what it is naturally supposed to do - protect itself by producing more cholesterol. The cycle can't be broken because medications do not correct the underlying cause - only water can do this. And when the person drinks the water they should and corrects the dehydration, the body will fix the damage and dissolve the cholesterol. Medications will no longer be needed.

My Apple Head don't listen to that coconut oil as one of the best Omega threes medium chain triglyceride it's great for your thyroid in your digestion and helps control blood glucose levels you can't believe everything on KZfaq you have to take it with a grain of pink Himalayan salt

My Apple Head just get the one that is natural and not processed and you'll be fine! it's healthy fats :)

Think for yourself man and do your own research. I've been using organic coconut oil for 6 plus years now I ingest it along with oregano oil whenever I feel a cold coming. It's one of the best antibiotics nature has to offer.

Anyone remember Tab? My mom used to drink Tab. Today she's 67 years old and she's drank Diet Coke every day of her adult life! Couscous is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern staple because it was cheap and filling. It is eaten with mutton or fruit, nuts and spices. I love it! Back off man! 😀

Tananda Lynch You should have tried it in the 70's! I suspect my mom has holes in her organs and brain! Aspertame was created as a pesticide. The FDA was well aware when they gave it a pass to add to food. I believe, at the request of the sitting president.

67 is not old nowadays. The average lifespan already in the low or mid 80s in some parts of the world where they have access to good medical care.

Don’t you need to eat hundreds of pounds of fish in order to consume a lethal amount of organic mercury?
@RHW42Archangel6 жыл бұрын
you dont need to consume a lethal amount of mercury to face serious, permanent damage. most mercury in fish is organic mercury, which is way worse than metallic mercury when it comes to brain damage, not to mention takes longer to be flushed out of your system and unlike metallic mercury there is no treatment yet to force it out of your system. certain fish have higher concentrations, generally large predatory fish, so the common seafood like trout, cod and crab have relatively low concentrations. however, fish like swordfish and shark have almost .1 ppm of mercury. for these, as little as two servings per week can have adverse effects. shrimp is good though, very little mercury
@Grey_Warden_Invasion5 жыл бұрын
A lot of margarine packs actually have the warning on it that you shouldn't heat it up or else it will develop dangerous trans fats. So when fat is needed for cooking or baking it is definitely better to use butter or oil (not all sorts of oil though since some of them shouldn't be heated either).
