This 10 minute beginner Qigong for leg circulation was designed to improve blood flow to the legs and help tackle issues like poor leg circulation, numbness legs or restless legs symptoms. This Qigong exercise is very easy to do and only takes 10 minutes. It helps to keep your joints flexible by working the muscles, maintaining and improving your range of movement and is good for balance and stability.

The ten minute leg exercise has now been added to my qigong routine. I have been practising the eight treasures of qigong as taught by Shifu Yan Lei. Thus I am already in a peaceful place. I just followed you on your leg routine and my legs feel great, feel like blood is flowing through them. Because I sit down for twelve hours a day to do my job, my legs are having circulation problems. If the initial feeling is right, hopefully your routine maybe my answer to improve the health of my legs. Ray.

Ksney, thank you for your expert and lovely teaching! I would love some longer routines(20min) that are focused on the lower body. for me, this is useful right now because I'm rehabilitating my shoulders after many years of overusing them and I really can't do any over the shoulder moves right now. even though it's not working my upper body I find working my lower body with a Qi Gong helps the overall circulation and well-being of my body. When my shoulders heal a more I will start include again the upper body and overall body ones, for further healing... paying attention to my form and flow and letting go...what your teaching helps me to do ;) thank you, bless you!

Hi Kseny - I really loved this video! You have a calming voice and presence and the feel of your environment took me on a vacation. I was recently diagnosed with Venous Insufficiency - when the blood doesn't easily flow up to the heart through the legs and forms varicose veins. I was scheduled for a procedure today - and cancelled it in the office. I am a qi gong practitioner as well, so I want to try this technique first to see if it helps me avoid laser surgery! I'll do it every day. Thanks ever so much!

I've suffered from Deep vein thrombosis in the legs and pulmonary embolism. Being a trucker it's a health hazard but thank you very much. I just completed the video and will continue to do this. Nice video by the way.

Squats were strong, but lift up on toes very weak. Had to stay low to stay centered on my toes. Great opportunity to find strength going up on the toes.

Hi there, thank you for trying this one and taking the time to share. If you find it challenging, keep the squats not as low, just enough for you to activate the muscles of the legs without excess effort and feeling of tired and as you get stronger you will naturally increase the range. Have a good practice!

Thank you for this video! When I go down in this exercise I feel that I am bending my lower back. You said few times that the lower back should be relaxed. Does it mean that we should try not to bend it?

Hi Alyona, thanks for asking, it's a good question. In Qigong you want to use your legs as much as you can (when squatting or doing the movements like in the video) as if you are about to sit on a high bar stool. so many of us use the lower back when we need to go down , putting pressure on it. In Qigong it is the opposite, your should try to keep your lower back nice and relaxed throughout the practice and your legs strong. I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on

Thank you. When you do a small squat down, do you continue to keep your lower back straight? And do your knees not go past you toes? Can one create their own qi gong exercises, based on how one feels their own energy?

Hi Razz, thanks for taking the time to write. I’m glad you like qigong and enjoy the videos. In Qigong the legs carry out most of the work, as Chinese masters say, “the ageing begin from the legs”, so the stronger and more stable you feel on your legs the better. When going down, keep you back fairly straight ( as if you are about to sit on a high stool) and relaxed. As for the knees, try to not go past your toes. Keep up with the good work.

Exercises that help blood circulation to / from the feet and legs. Most of my routines include leg exercises. Walking on the toes around room👍😊

Hi Bianca, thank you for your question. I'm not a medical practitioner, however doing daily exercises to encourage blood flow is beneficial. Capillaries circulation can be activated through light body tapping exercises which I have on my channel. I hope this helps a little. Have a good day!

Hi Melina, i wouldn't say it's normal. You shouldn't really feel any pain or discomfort during the session and after. Try to stay relaxed, making less effort. adjusting the degree of the squats and calf raises. Best of luck!
