The Giant Cheetah actually wasn't a close relative of the Modern Cheetah. It is its own lineage of felid, that is thought to simply have evolutionarilly converged on It's form and behavior, due to its role as open plains, chase-down predator ---the same role that the actual cheetah occupies today

The Giant Cheetah belongs to the same genus (Acinonyx pardinensis) as modern cheetah's, you are likely confused with the American Cheetah (Miracinonyx)

YES, it’s pathetic! And the European ice age leopard was a similar weight to today’s Persian subspecies of leopard (P pardus tulliana), so it was around 90 kg & NOT 120 kg. WildCiencias are becoming famous for exaggerating the weights of animals.

@@tusker9959 xenosmilus is bigger and stronger than fatalis easily, yes But is per lb stronger and stouter than populator and nearly matched it despite being smaller My statement is entirely accurate with the populator As for fatalis, xenosmilus would easily overpower it It might not with the populator if we take the lower size estimate or it certainly might if we take the bigger estimate of xenosmilus

Actually, the scientific name of the jaguar is actually Jaguarius onca, it belongs to the genus Jaguarius, which contains all roaring cat species that are found only in the new world, two other known species within the Jaguarius genus are the †American Lion (Jaguarius atrox) and the †Yucatan Leopard (Jaguarius balamoides), this genus shared a more recent common ancestor with the clouded leopards (genus Neofelis) from Eastern Asia.

No, cave lions are more closely related to the snow leopard and tiger, whereas the american lion is more closely related to the jaguar, in fact, the american lion, yucatan leopard, and jaguar all belong to the genus Jaguarius, which contains all roaring cats found only in the new world, whereas the cave lion, tibetan jaguar, snow leopard, east asian lion, longdan tiger, chinese jaguar, and tiger all belong to the genus Uncia, the genus Jaguarius (New World Roaring Cats) is most closely related to the clouded leopards (genus Neofelis), whereas the genus Uncia (Snow Leopard and Tiger Lineage) is basal to both but more derived than the genus Panthera (Leopard and Lion Lineage).
