My Setup 4 Impact® golf method makes it easier to hit any golf shot. Simply setting up on your impact plane and then swinging on one single plane makes the game easier. I customize the simple concept to fit each individual golfer regardless of age, flexibility, and natural ability. I will help you improve faster than any other way. I have worked over 35 years in developing this simple golf swing method which can help anybody play better golf quickly. Many do better their next time out. Because it is easier to repeat it is also easier on the body. Putting less stress on the back, hips, and knees.

ABOUT KIRK JUNGE
-----------------------
Kirk Junge began playing golf at the age of 5. After a successful Junior Golf career, Kirk turned professional in 1986. He has played on the Dakotas Tour, the Teardrop Tour, the South Florida PGA and the SouthWest Ohio PGA where he captured one victory.
More recently Kirk played tournament golf again for the first time in almost 20 years in 2021 where he finished second in the Senior division in the United States Golf Teachers Cup in Las Vegas, NV. There were Golf teaching professionals from around the USA playing in this competition which took place in 30 to 40 MPH winds. Kirk competed again in 2022 and again finished second with rounds of 69, and 73.
In the year 1996, Kirk began to teach the golf swing of Moe Norman, and shortly thereafter taught with the Natural Golf Corporation, where he stayed until 2005. During that time he was one of the top instructors and was responsible for answering over 3000 golf technique questions on the Natural Golf forum. He was a licensed instructor with the Graves Golf Academy from 2014 to 2016.
“SINGLE PLANE™" is a trademark of graves golf.This channel is not owned, affiliated, sponsored by, or endorsed by Graves Golf, who teach the “MOE NORMAN SINGLE PLANE” golf swing. I was certified to teach Graves Golf’s SINGLE PLANE™ Golf Swing in 2015 but I am no longer licensed to teach Graves Golf’s "SINGLE PLANE™" golf swing
After leaving Natural Golf, Kirk headed to Pforzheim, Germany where he ran his own Golf Academy until 2014.
In 2005, Kirk set his sights on creating a simpler golf swing, which led to the creation of Setup 4 Impact Golf. Using his 20+ years of golf instruction experience and his knowledge of the many different golf methods. Kirk has distilled golf knowledge from some of the best golf instructors in the world to create the Setup 4 Impact golf swing. His instructors included the likes of Wild Bill Melhorn, Jimmy Ballard, Terry Crouch, Artie McNickle, Chuck Hogan and Dave Pelz, and many more.
Kirk’s main goal is to help golfers improve their game as quickly as possible.

The Setup 4 Impact golf method can be fully customized to fit your own personal needs without the need for special golf clubs.
Kirk has taught golf for 35 years now. He has taught various golf methods including for Natural Golf Corporation, Single Axis golf, and the Graves Golf Academy. Kirk invented the Minimalist golf swing method which had you setup and swing on a single plane, which has evolved into his currently taught Setup 4 Impact swing which is the Ultimate golf swing because it is built to fit every golfer regardless of shape, size, age, or ability. The Setup4Impact golf swing very closely resembles the swing of Bryson DeChambeau who also sets up on his impact plane. Kirk's number one goal is to help you improve at golf.
Kirk Junge currently teaches his "Setup 4 Impact" swing full-time in West Palm Beach, Florida year round, as well as Cincinnati, Ohio, Reading, PA, and Sanford, NC a couple times per year. Other locations coming soon including California. More info at setup4impact.com/kirk-junge/

Thanks Kirk! I like your method because I don’t have to think about much at all during the swing. I have found that even with a strong grip I have to close the club face at address to hit it straight because with my hands leading at impact the club face is open even with a strong grip.

I think Moe's method is a good entry into Single Plane golf. I love your explanation of the difference in heights, etc. The 10 myths have helped me tremendously in applying my size and such to the Single Plane swing as you present in your videos. Your instruction for applying your Single Plane presentation to my physical characteristics has helped me develop and own my golf swing relative to the Single Plane. Thank you!

I have been surprised that many who copied Moe for many years seemed to get worse the closer they got to copying Moe swing. This was the case for me as well. I think it was due to restricting the lower body movement so severely that I lost so much distance and had trouble getting through impact properly. Best to start just setup on your impact plane and then learn to make great impact. Moe was an individual who can never be duplicated.

Kirk - I enjoyed watching this video and your intent and insights. Each myth debunk makes perfect sense. I also appreciate the way you reference the "other" academy teaching single plane without being negative, only constructive. That's classy. I ran across a useful method to check lie angle. Use a dry erase marker to mark a line on a ball, like a putting reference. Set the ball down with the line visible to you on the back side of the ball and parallel to the target. When you strike the ball at impact the mark will show on the face of the club. You will be able to judge the lie angle and impact spot on the face.
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
Thanks Rich, Yes that method will work well for lie angle if you can setup the ball perfectly so the line is vertical and so you hit it.

Great explanation Kirk. I attended a three day school from a competitor years ago and they taught all of the ten myths. It ruined my game for the remainder of the summer. I went from an 8 to an 18 hcp. I would like to attend a one day school but the distance and exchange rate on the US/CAN dollar make it expensive from Southern Ontario, Canada.

Those concepts ruined me as well. Fortunately I learned from seeing my own game and many other people struggles. For you I would recommend a three day to make it worth your trip. No classroom time in my schools either. We spend the entire time working on improving all aspects of your game. I am in Pennsylvania June 2-4, and in Cincinnati a couple weeks before that.

Copying Moe ruined my game, and I did not even realize it for many years, because I did not compete. Now looking back I see why I did not compete. It was because I was always trying to better match Moe's swing, but even as I got close to his swing the results never came. In fact I played worse golfer and my back hurt, probably from being so bent over and standing so far from the ball.

I like the demonstration about how lifting the heel doesn't throw off the swing arc(at about 12:14). As a beginner we find our fairway finder swing is mostly upper body rotation and arms, limiting the dynamic movement of the body between toes and hips, so it is easy to believe the myth. Limiting lower body movement might work well for putting, but not for full swing speed. Thanks again Kirk! Videoing yourself in slow motion can help us know if we are planted on the trail heel at impact.
@TheWedgeWizard
@TheWedgeWizard Жыл бұрын
Lifting that heal early, when it comes out towards the ball definitely makes the club go further from the body, usually causing heeled shots and shanks. There’s a proper way to lift it, like sheffler, JT, ect. They’re actually lifting it but the trail heel/knee is staying back or going slightly towards the lead heel, then After impact it can come up and out.you can easily test this, Just hover a club over a ball, lift your trail heel so your knee goes out towards the ball, you’ll see the clubhead move out as well, causing the heels/shanks. Very Common mistake. That’s why players who lift early, keep that knee from moving out and almost move laterally towards the front foot until after impact, in shefflers case he actually lets it slide, in, not out, that’s a death move for sure. Be careful how your lifting the heel, this demonstration was very misleading the way he kept the club grounded. Hover the club and you’ll see exactly what happens when your heel/leg moves out towards the ball.
@rcdlaing
@rcdlaing Жыл бұрын
@@TheWedgeWizard That makes sense. I'll give that a shot. But I don't think he was being misleading, but maybe not forthcoming on the ways it could go wrong. I tried what he demonstrated and was no movement, but I'll try again with different knee movement and weight balance. Thanks for comment. I have to figure this out!

Can’t agree more. Keep this content flowing. One question regarding back swing. I can increase my backswing length if I point my back foot toe out 45 degrees. Do you foresee that being a problem? Sometimes I lose accuracy.
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
This could make the move through impact more difficult. So we do not want to sacrifice impact in order to lengthen the backswing. I would just setup normally and take it back to the limit of YOUR OWN flexibility.
@OLD-MAN-GOLF-USA
@OLD-MAN-GOLF-USA Жыл бұрын
I have had a short backswing not only now that I'm old, but when I was young too. I never suffered for distance, though. After learning Setup4Impact and seeing myself on video, I set out to lengthen my backswing for more distance. I turned the right foot out as you mentioned, I allowed the left heel to raise up at the top, tried to cock my wrists more and so on. All I accomplished was to destroy my own rhythm and timing and become more erratic. I also never gained any distance. I went back to what is natural for me and the sequencing got back into rhythm. If you watched the Kirk vs Tony video you will see this short swing. You don't need a long backswing to hit the ball far.....just watch Jon Rahm, Tony Fineau or JB Holmes to name a few. Better to make solid impact with what you have. Tony Griffin Setup 4 Impact Master Instructor Sanford, NC

Also I plan to take a lesson next season when im in Palm Beach sp thank you!
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
It must be easy to keep the hips still so they don’t turn as that is what I see most high handicappers do. The funny thing is that I do not see any good players who do that. The hips and body must rotate in order to create ideal impact parameters. There simply is no other way to do it. We need a square clubface, path towards target, shallow flatspot through impact, as well as hitting the middle of the clubface. I cannot fathom how difficult it would be to intentionally swing somewhat to the right of target, and get the clubface closed enough to compensate for that.
@johnmcintyre8249
@johnmcintyre8249 Жыл бұрын
Kirk I probably worded that wrong of course the hips have to turn etc the stillness is in the planted weight on the lead side thus enabling an unswaying rotation of the hips. Thank you for the reply.

I'm curious what percentage of students work best with a "normal" strong grip (not crazy strong) and what percent are weaker.

@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
I see it as around 85% do better with a stronger grip that what was once considered neutral. We need to fit our grip to the impact position that we can achieve. If we can get the hands leading ideally then 95% would need a stronger grip, those who do not would have a bowed leading wrist.

Anyone who thinks they have been custom fit for clubs without trying a minimum of ten club shaft combinations on a professional launch monitor has been taken advantage of. A fitting at Club Champion will take almost two hours and you will hit many different club heads paired with numerous shafts. They will fit by the numbers and be exact. You can’t fill out a form and call it a custom fitting.

I have taught the single plane swing concept for over 25 years teaching many of the same concepts that I debunked in the video. No better way to learn what does not work than to try teaching it to people. I was able to see what did not work well, and learned from my clients. My goal was always to provide the fastest improvement possible. I saw far too many people working on foolish concepts (that I also worked on myself) who did not improve and in fact got worse over months, and years of work. I feel sorry for those who will not change even though their is a mountain of evidence of what works well, and what does not.
