Q, you’re a legend. This dissection and deconstruction of the Motion Processing in the Sony A95L is simply a masterpiece. No one else is doing this, or even coming close to providing any type of real insight to this problem. I own the 55” version, and use it primarily for gaming, but I can easily tell the difference when I’m playing 4K UHD Blu-ray’s. This is why you’re easily the #1 brand in honesty…

Hi quantum, i got a new CU7000 and i am using to watch anime. I am wondering if i should keep the motion smoothing set to auto or turn it off. A lot of people in the internet are saying tv motion smoothing ruins anime and give them a soap opera effect. But im not really sure about that as when i turn it off and a panning scene appears the judder is extremely irittating. What would you recommend?

@elliot43307 ай бұрын
Which motion settings are you using? I originally had the Samsung S95C but exchanged it for the Sony A95l. The Samsung was wonderful with motion on 4K hdr material but I watch alot of low bit rate material (streaming tv) and none of the motion interpolation settings could fully eradicate motion problems that I could figure out. On the Sony A95l i have cinemotion set to low and motion flow settings of (film) to min and (camera) max and clearness to low. With these settings I don't notice any motion issues with low bit rate material or 4K HDR movies that i could see.

Hey quantum, I've watched a few videos on the x90l and noticed when people compared the motion settings off vs on, and then off again, it would cause a bug that made the "off" setting look completely broken compared to when they started the test.

Has this been fixed with. a update? I'm looking at grabbing the A95L as Samsung TVs don't suppor Dolby Vision only Atmos sound but Atmos and Vision go hand in hand. the motion looks very bad i see what you are saying, the samsung does look better but its only HDR10 but Dolby Vision . Are the Sony Mini-LEDs any better at soothing motion? X93L? or the LCD X90L? I need a new TV with Dolby Atmos + Vision but this is insane for the A95L price!

So far, that's why use my HTPC as a Videoprocessor to correct some of the motion issues. MPV/MadVR+SVP4 Pro running RIFE AI Engine can do all kinds of magic, and drastically affect the motions of these panels (best if used in PC mode + XR Enhancements). An A80J with a HTPC as Videoprocessor (running RIFE AI Engine+120Hz BFI(Clearness on 1 or 2) makes it best TV for motion/clarity/detail so far, and I'm using my A80J (the last Sony WOLED to have 120hz BFI) till it dies.

Well probably you are the only KZfaqr talking about this issue and thanks for do it. Everybody said that Sony motion is the Best but in my experience it is not. I have a Sony oled 80j and notice the problem in many panoramic scenes and is really annoying. My previous Samsung qled never had that kind of issue. Recently I bought the x90l led and have the same problem again. Unless you set the soap opera effect the flickering in some panoramic or fast scenes is really bad. On top of that the tv antenna reception is the worst and quality of image in low content resolution is bad also. I probably returning the tv.

Oh my goodness...I thought I was crazy for thinking that this TV is not as insanely good as all the reviewers are making it out to be. It's a solid TV but I definitely do not think it's worth the price. Even for all there claims of "Processing" being the best in SONY...I turned on 1080P content on KZfaq and ran a few other tests...it's nothing spectacular. Maybe mild differences can be spotted when having 2 TV's next to each other. But I dont feel it's all that differnet. Bought a A95L 65" for $2750 on Greentoe, but man it's not punching the way I anticipated this TV to do. Beautiful picture but buggy menu's when watching content, LED indicator issues even when you turn them off, and sub par motion handling in streaming content has made me feel like I want something more....but ofc, this is the "Best TV of 2023" 😔

These are great points, I hope in future TV tests, we can add these camera pan shots to evaluate motion. Seems like demo reels are made to minimize camera movement and “hide” this issue. Great catch and I hope Sony can resolve

How come you haven't responded to the accurate comments saying the A95L has no motion issues when Cinemotion set to low and Motion Flow (film) is set to Min, Motion Flow (camera) set to Max, and Clearness to Low? I noticed no issues on these settings either. Since the A95L is a more advanced and complex product than the Samsung, it may require the user to make more adjustments for the best results. This is the norm with more advanced products. Also, the A95L will always reveal a few more flaws in an image because it is a more nuanced and more revealing display than the Samsung.
