The defense said parts of Travis McMichael's testimony should now allow for it to be used as the case continues on Nov.18.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Three men face murder charges in a trial in southeast Georgia. The trial is on Day 10 as of Nov.18.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

Fact: Mr. Arbery was a convicted felon who was doing his time on probation. If caught even for a minor charge/offense. Arbery was likely going to prison if he complied. This was obviously the reason Arbery ran and eventually attacked the man holding a shotgun - not vigilante murderous racism as you want to believe.

What crime did Ahmaud Arbery commit on 23 February 2020? Trespassing? I've gone in construction sites of houses, just to see the progress, get an Idea for when I can build my own house. Several people went into that structure, White and Black, not that the race should not matter. No one is Innocent, let the Justice fit the crime. Or should we hope that you get the same 'Justice' that he got. Cause eventually, you will cross the line, we all do to some level.

@@davea556 Sorry dude, If someone with a shotgun is chasing me, I will run, If I can't run, I will fight. That's part of the flaw of your logic. Having a gun doesn't give authority. I bet your logic changes if you had been a white man in a 'Getto'. Personally, ifI was one of the defendants, I would have a Camera, take pictures and take them from distance. and give them to the police, or at least keep a safe distance and let the Police confront him. Makes sense as the story is he was just jogging and they thought of him as suspicious. However, the defense says, no he was being suspicious at night in the neighborhood multiple times, police were called and we were reasonable to assume he was up to no good. The issue with these trials, is that the public takes a simple manslaughter or murder case, and lies about the victim to make it something that it wasn't. It wastes time. From his actions, it's reasonable people would be suspicious. What's not reasonable is how they went about it.

I totally agree with you. Sadly, this is 'justice' in America. If the victim is Black (even if s/he has been murdered by the defendants), s/he is always put on trial as part of the shenanigans. Same thing happened with George Floyd. This is nothing new. Apparently, the Constitution /rules/legal guidelines are only applicable to certain people. This is why the system is problematic. The way Rules/laws are enforced changes based on the demographic of the accused. Wide latitude and leeway are given for 'people' like the McMichaels and Bryans of the country. Evidence is managed to incriminate OR absolve based on the whim and political persuasion of a judge, We have seen case after case that has been handled with wide swings in how justice is managed. And notice how they refused to allow into evidence the "F'n N*****' comment that Travis McMichael hurled over Arbery's dead body right after he murdered him . Lol. Clown court trying to pass as real justice isn't helpful to all.

I have never understood how defence tried to argue his probation was a reason that explains Ahmaud running towards Travis rather than running because he didn't want to go back to jail. It doesn't make sense too attack a man pointing a shotgun at you while his armed accomplice watches so that police won't arrest you, rather than run away?? They keep neglecting he had ran 2.5 miles to get to that area from home, then been chased for 4 nearly 5 minutes around the neighbourhood and then defence says why didn't he just run the other way and go home?? Fight and flight will be anyone's response to this situation whether they have had mental issues or not. All they want to be able to do is paint Ahmaud as a black crazy man who terrified two armed men when they politely ask him to come over and talk to them. It's ridiculous. They want the prior arrests brought in so they can say yes he never stole anything but he had a criminal record so he must have been going to steal something eventually and must have done the other crimes in the White neighbourhood. They had no knowledge of him before that time and judge did not allow people who saw him jogging regularly at night in neighbourhoods around Satilla Shores as that was not relevant to the case.

You are arguing that he has a record of having done something in the past and therefore had a lot to lose. All God's children with a shotgun pushed in their chest have a lot to lose. This will be remembered forever as another tragic injustice built on a few flimsy suspicions by unauthorized white men and a long national history of valuing my hand tools over your human life. He's seen IN PERSON on the property days before the incident and motions like he has a gun in his waistband and Travis sees this and calls the cops. After both these incidents he's seen running down the street, security footage reveals he was on the property a 5th time that day. After that he's confronted about why he's there, gets aggressive and attacks travis because he didn't like being followed. That's still assault. There is no law that says I cant confront you in my neighborhood and ask what you're going but there is a law about assaulting people which is what Arbery did.

Travis had gone around to the front of the truck and shot Arbery as he made that turn. The struggle for the gun happened after that first shot!! It was clear that Travis murdered Arbery without provocation of any kind. Arbery fought for the gun in self defense after he had been shot the first time. It doesn’t lessen Travis’ guilt at all. For some reason I don’t think Roddie is as guilty of murder as Travis and Greg abd it’s probably because one could argue that Roddie didn’t know they had guns or could not presume Travis would shoot Arbery? @@d-con6825 Ignoring the facts: - The fact that the argument here is self defense. If self defense is being argued here, it would hold if The McMichaels hadn’t incited the actions of Ahmad Aurbery. Chasing someone down for a crime you *suspect* someone might’ve committed is already illegal. Stack upon that the fact that they attempted to apprehend Aurbery- and you’ve essentially obliterated a self defense argument. - The US does not support vigilantly justice Again, even if Aurbery had committed a crime, it is not on the McMichaels to apprehend, or even punish him for a crime. They managed to do both, and for a crime he didn’t commit. - Ahmad Aurbery did not commit a crime. The crime that the defense is attempting to characterize is one in which Aurbery has stolen from a construction site. There has been no evidence of this crime occurring. Video of evidence submitted to the court shows no wrong-doing. - Aurbery’s previous mental health issues would not change the actions of the McMichael’s. Let’s pretend Aurbery did indeed have mental health issues that inhibited his ability to properly respond to situations (I say pretend because as of now they have not been submitted to the court for evidence). The McMichael’s actions still would not be justified, as they were the inciters of violence. And in that case, even if Aurbery acted back violently, his actions are still justified. - Last fact: your inability to argue your stance or the actions of the McMichaels is evident in your sudden switch to personal attacks, and use of trivial, irrelevant opinions. Had you stuck your course, and argued the “facts” of the case maybe you’d stand a chance. But obviously, your feelings get in the way. Also, the Judge in the Rottenhouse trial also denied evidence of comments he had made 15 days prior relating to the actions he took on the night in Kenosha. It is precedent, as the other comment has stated. But keep crying why don’t you.

They did not do this when other young kids had gone into that house, but they decided to take matters into their own hands even after they called the police and were told that if Ahmaud did not break into the house to steal anything, again there was no need to send the police out to investigate or make a possible arrest. And according to the video, Ahmaud had been there several times, looked around as the owners house was being remodeled, but on that day, he then left and continued his jog. Did Ahmaud break the law? UH NO!!! These two knuckle heads without forethought decided to take matters into their own hands and because the police told them if Ahmaud didn’t steal anything or commit a crime, there was no reason for a police unit be sent out. As the original commentator stated that the police was called and they did not investigate because Arbery did not break into an house under construction that did not have trespassing signs. That part of the defendant testimony cannot be overlooked.

@@davea556, Of course he was! This happened when Ahmaud was in HIGH SCHOOL, he received five years of probation (no jail time) for a first-time weapons charge and in 2018, he was convicted of probation violation for shoplifting (again, no jail time) this was according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper. It was mentioned that, in 2017, a Glynn County officer attempted to tase him after he denied their request to search his car at a park. Soooo, with all this said, this has absolutely nothing to do with what occurred the day he went for a jog. Also, the Police bodycam footage showed the encounter with officers, who said he was in a car in an area known for drug use. Ahmaud said he was on his day off from work. The taser malfunctioned and he was allowed to leave on foot. So, that’s neither here nor there . He wasn’t committing a crime before he was murdered he went on a jog, was a regular visitor of a house under construction to which the owner of the house had no problem with it, however he did have a problem with a bunch of white kids entering his house and some things were stolen.

What in hell with someone's mental health after they have been murder? The defense want the jury to believe. If Ahmaud Arbery went right and try to make it out the neighborhood. I can only guess. Ahmaud was thinking if he turned his back to a man holding a shotgun. There is a very good chance he could get shot in the back.

My point is that could have been a chance Travis may have pulled the trigger. I don't know. However, known this racist as country and the State of Georgia being one of the most racist state in the union. I know that because I was born and raised in the state of Georgia.

The matter of Arbery's mental health and probation record are irrelevant to whether the clients had a right to stop Arbery in the first place. And it is their right to stop him that is at issue. Presenting to a jury that Arbery may have other reasons of being there or other reasons of taking choices he had just muddies the water in determining whether they had a right to stop him because there is NO mental state or probation record that would affect whether that right exists.

You do realize citizen's arrest is a state law citizens can do that. Also we need to know what his record is because there been reports of several cars and houses being broken into that matches his description caught on video. One of the residents of the neighborhood testify to that fact. So I don't know let's see what his criminal record is. You know establishing a pattern that puts into serious question why he was scrambling around a house that he had no business being at. I mean you do know what logic is don't you? Because that poor guy sure as hell didn't know what hey stop don't move the cops are on the way and then reaching for a guys gun and the consequences of those action.
