I lived in Quezon City for 6 years. I'm learning Tagalog now because my wife(who is a Filipina), My son and I will be in the Philippines for a visit in December. It was so hard to leave the Philippines when we did. The Philippines holds a very special place in my heart and I refer to it as Home. I may be a Filipino/American but my heart is purely Filipino and I identify as such. Mabuhay Pilipinas. 🇵🇭

For us Pilipinos ... US is the best when it comes to lavish lifestyle and luxurious stuff....until someone from US say its us who lives in a better country not looking at material things but the way people treat others in general, and the natural landscape. Thank you for helping us appreciate our humble country.

I agree with you! I'd hate to be an African American or Latino there. Shocking racism, violence, shit wages, poverty you name it. I am from New Zealand and I have lived in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, easily the US would be at the bottom of that list. I don't understand the obsession of people wanting to move there. Australia is easily the best place for opportunities as an immigrant hands down followed by Canada. Yes the Philippines is stunning! The most beautiful beaches, scenery and friendly family oriented people

Here in the Philippines, you need to be kind, respectful, hardworking, and God-fearing to survive and one day be successful. People here learn the hard way, so they are down to earth even if they are successful, not like in the United States, where everyone is spoon-fed.

Yup...The 1st time I came here in the US, I thought I'm gonna loss my sanity, I told my husband that America is the Saddest place I've ever been to... It's also undeniably a beautiful place but it's the people ( Not all anyway) makes it the loneliest, Selfish place to stay, Most people don't Care at each other at all...When you keep smiling at people they think you are crazy & when you sing/hum randomly, They call you weird and when you are too kind/ Helpful, They think you have Bad motives or a terrorist which is totally opposite of what I been used to growing up in the Philippines... That's why we will be going back home in the Happiest Place Philippines Soon & stay there for good.😍 Philippines maybe a 3rd world country but it's the Filipino people that makes it a beautiful place to live, Where Filipinos treat locals & foreigners equally with respect & Love💝

It’s no accident it’s called “the friendliest place on Earth”.

Mark ledesma Mark, I’m glad to hear the move to PH has been a lifesaver. You probably wouldn’t have had the same kind of new lease on life in Germany! I’m looking to do the same kind of thing... I’m overweight, high BP, pre-diabetic, fatty liver, high triglycerides, always fatigued and always stressed out. Now if the Philippines were only cooler and less humid...! I’m from Canada and I melt in that heat. But hopefully it will be better if I lose a bunch of weight. Best of luck to you!

I was born and raised in the Philippines and lived there for 30 years of my life. There are moments that I want to go home for the reason that I miss my family, but I wouldn't move back there just because of the 12 beautiful things you mentioned. Here in the US, there are hundreds of beautiful things that I don't need to mention because they are very obvious that is why many people around the world want to live here. My favorite thing here that I couldn't enjoy in the Philippines is silence. No gossip and most of all, people here know where to put their trash. However, I appreciate you two for sharing your thoughts about Philippines. There are so many rooms for improvement and everybody knows that. I hope we do better for the sake of children there. I still plan to retire in the Philippines but not in Manila or other big cities. We'll see.

I am an older athletic person in good health but now I am taking medication since I started managing this business. I suffer from employees stealing money and materials. The good pay does not seem to matter as it does not stop them from stealing. I am also fed up with government employees corruption, so counter productive!!!. @@troyl8441 No hate, just stating a fact that those foreign vloggers need to praise everything or their channels don't grow. And you're right not everyone is just there for easy channel building or for monetary reasons.

Filipinos just love to be praised by foreigners, in particular the white skins whom they think and treat like the gods, to adore and fawn upon . If any of them dare to criticise or say anything bad about the country, the Pignoy Pride will be hurt so deep and so bad god help the foreigners. Reminds me of dogs that need to be patted on the heads and stroked and they will lap at your feet. Else they will bark like mad and threaten to bite.......

Helping others such a plus here! And my priorities are improved here, where money can be helpful - a lot!! - but friendship, conversation, a prayer, practice English (or Tagalog!) and needing household help / handyman - and paying for it - are other ways of giving.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about PH. I was enlightened.... never thought that when you eat out with friends in the US it is not usual to share it with others.😊
