Love it! I’m an intermediate Russian speaker/learner, and it was great reinforcing the basics I’ve learned, and I learned a few new things as well like кое-что & бабочка! I love looking at both more advanced content to increase my exposure to the language and push me to learn more, as well as at beginner content to help strengthen and reinforce my foundation. Sometimes I don’t feel like I’m very good at Russian, but watching this video showed me all the things I do know & how far I’ve come!

😅enjoy!

When you were in school, did you have to watch the war film 'Idi I smotri'? I know a fair amount of other Russians have, and it's a pretty interesting piece of Russian culture I think. Great video btw, really helpful!
@zavulon4222 жыл бұрын
Иди и смотри is really interesting phrase, it can be translated in very different ways. With the poster of the film it's like an order: you have to come and see. In regular situation it can be like: "walk around, look anything, have fun". If you're an agent, you can translate it like "follow and watch/observe". If we give a little change - "иди. И смотри у меня." - this phrase can say your boss "go. I'm watching you"
@jakeacake68992 жыл бұрын
@@zavulon422 that is interesting. Given that idi or smotri aren't the infinitive forms and they don't belong to a specific pronoun, I was confused at why it was spelled like that. Thank you for clearing that up!
@russ1anasanov1ch492 жыл бұрын
@@jakeacake6899 As far as I know, "Go and see" is a quote from the Bible. The title of the film is not perceived as an order to watch the film, but as an instruction to walk through the places of events. And I like that in Russian it is not necessary to use pronouns.

what is the different between Бытъ and Был and what is the kind of grammar called ?
@JockiePvZ2 жыл бұрын
Был is the past form of Быть, therefore you use it in the sentence. Otherwise it would be omitted.

@@oliverdozerlesky2646 In Russian there are 5 verbs describing existence - "eat" /"being" /"future" /"existence" /"will". The latter has been deprecated and replaced with "future". You can replace "eat" with "existence".
