The coupe version of Lancia Fulvia was introduced in 1965. It featured Zaccone Mina's trademark 12-degree V 4 engine placed at a 45-degree tilt in front of the transaxle. The ensuing lowered center of gravity was independently suspended via wishbones with single leaf springs at the front and a beam axle with Panhard rod over leaf springs at the rear. The first series was produced from 1966 to 1969 and was offered in street and HF (High Fidelity) competition oriented versions with 1.2, 1.3 and 1.6 lt engines. In 1970 the Series 2 was introduced featuring a revised 5-speed gearbox and larger more efficient Girling brakes. Notably 20 Fulvias were used by Squadra Corse team to establish Lancia's triumphant return in motorsports by winning the International Championship for Manufacturers with epitome victory of Sandro Munari's and Mario Mannucci's car at the 1972 Rallye Automobile de Monte-Carlo.
The Series 2 1.3S Coupe offered was produced in 1972 in rare Grigio for its first owner in Athens, Greece. In 1984 it was acquired by a marque enthusiast who maintained meticulous service records till 2015 when the car became part of a private Fulvia collection. In 2020 the car was totally restored from the grounds up that entailed extensive attention to detail with no expenses spared. The body was restored to be resprayed in most commendable Tor Di Valle shade of Fulvia Grigio, named after Rome’s renown hippodrome and receive new trim, seals, lenses and foglights. The interior was treated with full trim of seats and door cards in light gray leather with new seat rail covers, door handlles and inox locks. The dashboard and center console were restored to feature refurbished woodwork, new Veglia gauges & clock, reconditioned levers and stalks, new heater box, new brightwork, seals, deflectors, sunvisors and a 3-spoke Nardi steering wheel. The engine was rebuilt with fuel supplied from overhauled Solex carburetters, new fuel tank with new gauge and lines. Brakes, suspension and steering were also restored with new servo assistance, master cylinder and Koni red shocks. All parts were sourced from Europe’s and UK’s most reputable suppliers such as Rosso Corsa (IT), Cavalitto (IT), Flamigni Flavia (IT), Omicron (UK), Pieces-Fulvia (FR) with invoices exceeding 7000 euros. Once complete the Fulvia was certified by FIVA and awarded Best Performance 1972 Award in Philpa’s 50th Anniversary Rally. It now presents with only 464 km since its restoration in an exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition throughout.

Love the colour combination. Think it looks great. When was the restoration done ? Would look better without the bumpers for my personal taste

It does indeed display an unusual but addictive mix sportsmanship with sophistication. The restoration was completed in 2020. The bumpers were powder coated but easy to store away.
