In this episode we take a look at cleaning the carburetors on a 1979 Yamaha XS750. We disassemble and reassemble them, stick them on the bike and it ran - we even ride it! There is still more that needs to be done - front brake, air pods, better starter method, oil leak, smoking problem, leaky engine covers, speedometer, tachometer, and then list goes on!! We also chat about the short little break that I'm going to take to work on creating some good things to watch coming soon and enjoy some family time.

Love that gas tank🤣 every time I watch your videos I spend an hour looking for old metrics on the internet. Good stuff man. Love seeing forgotten bikes come back to life. Enjoy your family and have a great Holiday season…we will be here when you get back.

Ha - yeah that thing works ok for a gas tank for a little while, it collapse the bottle when pressure builds up and sometimes starves the carbs, but most of the time its just for testing - this little excursion was a little more than normal - but hey, it worked1 :) Thanks for the kind words - I think its a much needed break for my wife too - much to do in the coming weeks - one of my most dreaded and most enjoyable - Christmas lights!! We are past Halloween so they need go up soon - before it snows. We turn them on the day after Thanksgiving and run them through Jan 2nd. Be safe - temps a cooling where you are too I imagine

@@AceCafeBikes I hear you…my boys are grown but, we still do up the house every year. Same here..tree goes up Thanksgiving day. Yeah, in the 50s today. January and February are our worse months. It will dip into the 20s at night.

It’s alive the gamble will pay off. I’ve used the mean green around the house but never on bike parts , man did it look like it worked slick.

I read the labels at the store and this one was the only one that said that it worked on aluminum, however, I think as it dried it tarnished it a bit. I should have rinsed them off with water afterwards. That may have stopped the reaction a bit. But, they are alot better than they were!!

Those carbs came up real nice Mike. I know all about gasket prices, I'm hunting some myself. To see & hear the bike start was cool as!! I must admit was, I was waiting on the stereo kicking in though.....Ha. Awrabesht from me and the clan. 😉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤘🙏

Thanks Alan, that solution did all the work, Ha!! I didn't mean to keep them in it that long, but I think it worked out ok. That would have been a good gag bit, swing and a miss on the radio switch!!!

Good so far - they definitely have that extra "bite" that you are in need of - one thing to note - if the screw is already messed up - you're still out of luck - ha!

, @@MotoMango If you don't race all the time, triples are the best , high torque down low and among the curent air cooled of it's time, always the fastest on top too. . 😉And with drive shafts, you change the oil each spring and that's it no oiled rim in the back. .
