In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 1981 Porsche 928. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Thank you so much for taking the time to produce all your wonderful videos, much appreciated. You're not kidding about the legendary 928; timeless design and then some! That rear end has got to be one of the most particular and instantly recognizable designs ever! A true masterpiece!

I hate it when people put aftermarket transmissions and steering wheels. It is like they think the 928 is crap. Porsche 928's are beautiful cars.

Very nice find man. I always loved that body style. It`s in really nice shape for the age. Yes there may be a few things not standard equipment, but people are free to do so with there own cars and the new buyer is free to change things to their taste as well. Thank you as always, super video, Kyle.

This is my dream car, and has been since I first saw one as a kid. I hope that they have the original steering wheel and shift nob. Finding a correct steering wheel and shift knob from this era is difficult. The turbo wheels are also incorrect, but finding the correct 928 wheels is a little bit easier. Thanks.

Damn nice, how many owners has it had not including you guys? The early ones are real nice cruisers, i have an 87 S4 5 speed and it's had about 5 owners so far, although it has all the signs that someone has been taking care of it properly all it's life, Brake fluid was actually still red, oil is always clean, no vaccuum leaks, no rust whatsoever except on the parts that the undercoating was chipped/broken. This 81 seems very good.

You are talking about the early 911s. Their engine is in the back, that means that the weight distribution is uneven and the car wants to swap ends in the corners. 924, 944 and 928 models have the engine in the front and the gearbox in the back. That makes them much steadier in the corners.

Both cars have their own qualities.. 928 is more of a luxury GT - full leather interior, lots of electric equipment, but it still goes fast - just like a Porsche should. 944 is more 'economical' car - if you can use this word speaking about a Porsche.. Not as well equipped (usually) as the 928, smaller engine (parts of the 928 5.0 V8 block were used to make the 2.5 litre inline-4 used in the 944). But it was still a Porsche - and the 944 is still able to kick ass of most modern cars. You choose.

@pbsgph That's really good for a car of that age. My friend's 1998 Grand Cherokee with a 5.9 V8 produces just 220 hp, but can still do 0-60mph in the mid 6-second range.

I did check yours out. The 1980 is a truly gorgeous looking beast, it's SO much better with the right wheels (bit smokey though, what is this the Wacky races? - lol) These cars are so under-priced and so beautiful (and fast) that surely they are going to have to appreciate at some point. PS. Have you checked out Mark Anderson racing his 928? It really shows the potential that this car had/has. I think that Porsche didn't race it at the time because it would have made the 911 look bad!

@stwartfan123 In the US cars had the speedometer only go to 85 for quite a while. I think some silly government restriction or something like that. Most cars could go much faster than that of course. There was a time when the national top speed limit was 55mph up until the late 1980's.

I hate it because it is painfully slow (83hp) and horrible to drive, but it's nice to have a oil pressure meter to look at :P The gauge isn't as quick as this one, but like this one it is in one spot and always there when idling and in a different spot when not.
