The Fab 5 take on the Blue Devils, looking for their 2nd straight title. I do not own or profit from this video.

I remember I was living in the dorms in college and our RA had a simple program that night. Watch the game on the Big screen TV in the dorm lobby and order Pizza from one of the Pizza Places in town.Nothing fancy but a simple program that drew a lot of people. The year before another RA bought WrestleMania 7 on his own, taped it in his room and showed it the next night as a program on the big screen TV Again it drew a large crowd.

This was the final Championship event in amazing 11 months for Minneapolis/St. Paul. From May of 1991 through the Final Four the Twin Cities had the Stanley Cup Finals, the US Open Golf Championship, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Final Four. That is one heck of a run for an area to have with major sports championships.

Watched this in a downtown Milwaukee bar and a fight broke out in the second half. Not just a dust-up, but a chair-throwing, glass-shattering, table-turning brawl that ended with all the customers outside on the street and the cops showing up to restore order.

Disappointing loss. Even though I am a Michigan fan, this Duke team might be considered the greatest graduating class in the last 4 years. 4 straight final fours, 3 championship games, 2 straight National Championships wins. I know there other players that graduated prior years. Thank you for uploading

Michigan played above their head in the first game,so in the second Duke knew they were clearly the better team and showed it in the second half at the final four
For next year's national title if any team from the Big Ten, Big Twelve, PAC-12 or SEC does not win this year's title and one team from one of these aforementioned conferences battles a team not from one of these aforementioned conferences, we need to get Flau'Jae and the lead singer of We Three from America's Got Talent to have a reenactment of this prelude sequence. Tell CBS we have been waiting for a reenactment like this for nearly three decades!

As a UNC fan, I dislike Duke with a passion...Offensively, they never really got it going until it was about 5 minutes left, but as they say “defense wins championships” and what they did to Michigan in the 2nd half was remarkable

The subtle and not so subtle racism around this game and ideology of basketball was never lost on me. Duke was White America's team...the good boys. Even though Laettner stomped on a Kentucky player and they talked trash and that rat faced bigot Coach K cursed out refs. Didn't matter, they were white. Meanwhile, the Fab 5 were flat out called 'thugs'. For no other reason than their skin tone. From this moment on, I learned as a 13 year old how the world worked. My dad told me his most disappointment moment watching sports was Frazier beating Ali. This was it for me...

It was a total shame those Michigan kids were treated so harshly and the worst of it all came from their own school alumni and boosters! Most shame on them! Because instead of taking the time to realize they were going to class and showing great work ethic on the court, they verbally bullied them because of their color, approach to the game and their appearance! Those kids were getting boatloads of nasty handwritten and typed letters saying they were a disgrace to the Michigan name in no uncertain terms! To me though, the immaturity lied with those who were the tormentors showing their own insecurities and passing hypocritical judgment! Seeing the Fab Five succeed I think was their way of payback, shutting all that negativity out and focusing on what needed to be focused on! Kudos to them for showing more maturity than the bullies

Not here to change your mind about everything but FYI Laettner did get a technical foul for that. Wasn’t like it was totally ignored by the refs. No way that’s a flagrant foul in 1991. Today tho you’d probably get ejected. Basketball was more lenient back then with the physicality. Plus that would like be ejecting Michael Jordan in a game 7. No way the refs are gonna do that unless it’s really over the top. Webber blatantly traveled before he called his infamous TO vs UNC in the championship game & the refs didn’t call it. All players “catch a break” with the refs every once in awhile, when maybe they shouldn’t have gotten away with it. . Anyway, I think these 2 teams were really fun to watch. I was really young and sports was everything when you’re a kid. College basketball was really exciting. I’m from CT so the Huskies and the Big East games were like a big deal. The Fab 5 & Duke were fun to watch just because they were so good. It’s too bad the Fab 5 never won a championship tho. That UNC loss really pissed me off. All the kids at school were rooting for Michigan and the next day the TO call was all we talked about. Nevertheless they all went on to have successful lives. Webber, Rose & Howard obviously made the NBA. Laettner tho was kinda a disappointment. He was like a slightly better then average NBA player at best. 1 time All Star I think. He still got paid at least. Unfortunately, Bobby Hurley never had a success NBA career. Think he had a bad car accident. He coaches now or at least it was. Now I only care about sports if I have money on the game. End rant and excuse my reminiscing.

@@LeonardStauffer but what was ignored by the refs was the kentucky player before that play, pushing laettner in the back into the goal post after he made a basket.laettner was just trying to get him back.even though he got the wrong player.
