Thank you SO much for this video! I had the 'helicopter' noise for the last half a year, and it was getting worse. I had asked my dad and he thought it might be the front CV joints. After watching this video about the front wheel bearing issue, I decided to replace them and we successfully did that today. The noise is GONE. So happy to not have wasted time and money replacing the wrong parts.

I owned a 2008 Nissan Tiida which when i sold few months back had 315,000 kms. Replaced wheel bearings,all spark plugs, all 4 ignition coils, both axles as the steering would not centre on highways, steering mount, lower control arms & all 3 mountings. Drove like a dream ❤ it was made in japan.

‘08 versa here. 170k. Had it for 5 years put about 50k on it. Have changed both coil springs , wheel bearing or two can’t remember exactly, plugs and wires due to misfire. Both lower control arms with ball joints. Engine mount replaced as well. This video is spot on. May want to include the rot that occurs behind the plastic panel behind the rear wheels. This is what’s going to kill my versa. Probably a 5k fix at the body shop. More than double what the cars worth.

I have a 2007 Versa. I have experienced the same issues he talked about. It's a good car overall. I have 176,000 plus miles on mine. My wife has a 2011 Versa with 212,000 miles on it. We had to replace the Transmission around 175,000 miles or so. Both cars are 4 speed automatic.

I own a Nissan 2012 Versa.. I have replaced the passenger top motor mount, also all 4 cylinders along with 2 sets of spark plugs. I've owned the car for 3 years and she now has 150,000 miles on it.

I have a 2008. You missed one common issue. In areas with salted roads you will go through mufflers and mid pipes quickly. Wagner suggests painting both with multiple coats of high temp paint.

I have 2006 nissan tiida/ versa with 155k kms. I changed strut mounts and front shock absorbers, battery. No other repairs other than brake pad replacement and engine oil change. The parking lights went. I just replaced the bulbs myself. Mine is non cvt automatic transmission. So super reliable.

Yes , hockey puck bushing is a Major issue the subframe bushings and the front Shock Mounts.

This is interesting...some Nissan Versas sold in the southern hemisphere markets like Brazil have this cvt cooler attachment. Extreme High temperatures are not so good for cvts (allegedly), I live in Ottawa, Canada and drove to work after sunset for about 8 years. 175,000 km now. My 2011 versa cvt still works. But.. I don't drive like I'm on the movie set of Mad Max either haha.

Recently, I changed all 4 shock absorbers of my 2009 NISSAN VERSA HATCHBACK, but the rear one are too hard and hit. An auto part told me that I need JOUNCE BUMPERS. Is this true? Thanks!

@Sean M Sorry dude. You are so massively wrong. Try Wikipedia - search C11 Nissan. BTW - I agree - Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, etc. NOT good. I had a late model Citroen C3, and it was an exceptionally awful car. Maybe it was just mine, but I'd had a Peugeot 2007 (? - can''t remember, because I got rid of it asap), and was freaking beyond horrible. Made the PT Cruiser look excellent...

Thanks, good video. Sister has 2012 Versa 1.8 auto, pretty good overall, lots of miles, around 180k (miles), a little rumble from wheel bearings and a tick under the hood which seems like a lifter, has a CEL from code PO320 (cat efficiency low). I wonder how long do we have before looking at another car. She's pretty good about maintenance, oil, ATF, coolant changes.

Wife has one with over 200k miles. Just replaced the original timing chains last month. Top issues I personally have replaced.... 1. Fuel pumps. We are on #6. Very sensitive to low fuel levels. 2. Front Upper shock mount bearings go bad fast 3. Rear springs snapped in half 4. Front springs were rotting per the TSB 5. Passenger door actuator for the hatch. Constantly fails. 6. Spark plugs, expensive and very sensitive to brand used. 7. Lower control arms, they are junk.

Maintaining a low fuel level will make ANY fuel pump overheat and fail. I guess you haven't figured that out going on to pump #6. What failed on the control arms? Bushings?

I've had '09 versa i swapped the engine to 2.0L had no problem's whatsoever but i crashed it couple months ago i was wondering why it have that awful braking like everytime i press the brake even if i wasn't speeding the wheels will lock eventually i crashed it. It didn't have ABS so i hoped that i would see if a vresa with an ABS would be better to buy

Hi, my nissan versa 2012 hatchback (not CVT) sometimes will not move on D , I have to put 1 and race , after I shift to D , it will go as normal..why this happens

Any of the pre 2012 CVT models are prone to premature transmission issues, most people report them going out around 80K miles, mine lasted 150K. Also the pre-2012 has AC issues as well, I had to get aftermarket parts to prevent further issues with mine going out again OEM parts only lasted about 2 years at best.

I have a 2010 with over 198k. Original coil packs, original engine mounts, original wheel bearings, original lower control arms. I did however replace my coil springs after one cracked.

My 14 years, 2008 Latio@Versa already 332,000KM. Vibration disappear, like new; after replacing all 3 pcs engine mount. All 4 tyre hub (brand NTN) have been changed once. Aircond system; Alternator belt every 60,000KM. Cooling coil changed 2 times. Blower 1 time. Temperature sensor 1 time; the symptom is compressor cut-off too early. Spark plug be replaced every 100,000 KM. Plug coil changed 2 times. I suggest FLAMMA brand rather than Tan Chong brand (in Malaysia). Lower arm, D bush, rear and front absorber and their mount need to be replaced once again. Maybe this time will replace whole set (absorber and spring). Radiator top tank replaced 1 time. Do not replace your transmission when it doesnt go well. Just add a can of auto treatment oil when you replace ATF. For now, the only outo treatment oil proven to treat my Latio’s transmission is Justice Brothers. I accept this matter with open heart 😁 because they are wear and tear.. Engine no problem at all.. 20 years more to go🎉

*wheel hub is easy to remove unless you are in the rust belt, then you basically have to replace the entire front suspension

I can talk you about the automatic shifter, there something who always broke in that part. Not a big deal but the Rear Wiper too, always broken in all the car i saw until now.

Good to know I just bought a 2009 with a 6 spd. Glad to see there isn't anything major that goes wrong with them. Nothing that can't be swapped out pretty quick.

Mines a 2012 hatchback 6spd. It's taken pretty good care of me. So far 178k miles. Other than normal maintenance, these were the issues I've had. Both struts (broke, and recalled after I replaced them), Throttle body, and fuel pump. Not to bad really.

I bought a 2011 6spd hatchback with 143k miles. Immediately needed a clutch (about $1000). 44k miles later, I just found out the motor mount is broken. Overall, not bad.

What would cause a very loud bang under the car? Seemed to come from either under the front to mid. I thought at first i had a rock thrown under my car, felt the vibration in the car floor. I was going about 100k on the highway, when it happened. Nothing seemed to be wrong aver that, but then i got home and went into reverse to back into my driveway and bang it happened again. Like someone slammed a huge rock or hammer hard into something under my car. I had noticed my muffler was a bit louder than usual again hours before the new sound, but im used to that as it keeps blowing holes. With the amount i have spent the past 3 years repairing pipes, i could have got a new muffler by now. I looked under the car, nothing seems broken n no leaks. Just topped up the iol and coolant the day before. The noise was loud enough to shock both my daughter and i.

Nissan Versa 2008 , some leaking fuel… but I do not understand anything about . 140.000 km and the transmission is ok. Very good condition. I went to the garage and I’ve got 2 different opinions/ one guy said it’s the timing belt, the other one said it’s not the timing it’s another thing (I did not understand ) . They said it could be about $1000 Canadian dollars to repair. It is ok??? Help me please 🙏 ❤

The CVT transmissions are great until they fail and they fail often. I know men who've had to replace their transmissions multiple times. Keep your coolant topped up, the transmission is cooled by the rad fluid. DON'T FIX the coil springs, they are a RECALL issue. Nissan replaces the coils for free.

Got a 2007 versa 6spd with 0 and I mean 0 exhaust left cheap steel rots fast... but still runs like a dream but the ride has always kinda sucked even with new tires etc

Biggest problem guaranteed to happen is the failure of the fuse box permanent relays. You will be driving and the car will stop working without a pattern. Replace this IPDM and your car will work well. Be sure to replace transmission oil at the dealer every 30K miles

I have a 2008 Versa and have ran into 2 problems that continue to keep happening. #1 - The driver side WINDOW CONTROL MODULE. I have replaced this 4 times, its always the drivers side window up/down that quits working. And the worse problem is #2 - the A/C CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE. 3 times now I have replaced this part for the same malfunction. the blower selector switch (1,2,3,4,off) seems to short out/melt and no matter which number its on it quits blowing air and is unable to move selector too another number/speed. Does anyone know what causes this malfunction to the AC Control Module? This is an expensive part and a real pain in the you know what to fix!

I am using a 2011 Versa as my daily until my new car order comes in. So far the only issue has been that the gas gauge is off by a quarter of a tank, leading me to run the tank dry a couple of times. Any tips on how to fix this?

Sounds like a fuel vapour issue. Ask a mechanic its tricky. Could be evap canister

likely the sensor on your fuel pump. ive changed the fuel pump and it fixes the gauge inaccuracies

Just junked my 08 Versa with just over 210,000 miles on her today.Dude is right on about engine mounts. Had to replace universal joint at 80 some thousand miles. Entire under carriage gave me holy hell from 20,000 miles all the way thru the 210,000 miles. Sub frame became completely rusted out at around 45,000 miles. I will never by another versa, too many problems, too much extra noises and too much shaking. Only good thing im thankful for is it by some miracle gave me 210,000 miles i have 0 clue how it made it to that many miles

Make sure both fans are working when ac is on full blast and also it could be low on refrigerant or have a leak

I bought a brand new 2008 Nissan versa in May 2008. I owned it until April 2013. I meticulously maintained the car and followed the maintenance schedule. My Nissan versa had more problems and issues than all Toyota and Honda cars I've owned combined from 1992, 1995, 2000, 2003, 2010, 2013, 2017. This Nissan is a Renault product and total junk.

Transmission or replace all of your coil packs and spark plugs I had to pay 500 to replace transmission and my starter as well as coil pack and spark plug

If you have the 1st gen ur ok unless u have a cvt. If you have the note 2nd gen then Its the cvt transmission. also on the note 1.6L engine is so slow and weak. The cvt have a no shift feeling. It should be free to replace since there has been a lot of recalls with them. Ask for the normal automatic transmission. I have the automatic and it is actually fast.

Can a new engine from this sound like a Volkswagen beetle my mom's car got the engine replaced about a week ago and now it sounds like a Volkswagen beetle when she gears up and i don't remember it sounding like that when first bought it in 2012. The car is a stick by the way.

Front Subframe bushings! They are a Number 1 Problem with anything the generation from Nissan. So many videos about them. "PSB" even sells bushings for it because nissan wants you to buy a whole subframe.

3:51 you can see where this bushing is on screen here bottom right, under that bolt. The subframe has a bracket that goes under/on top of (however you choose to look at it).

Disconnect the shifter cable from the transmission and check if the selector on the transmission moves up and down by hand. Then check the shifter to see if it goes into drive. Could be either.

Sometimes when I crank my car up it will die unless I play with the throttle , I took the mass air flow sensor out and it seemed like it started idling better so I guess that's the problem I'm not sure normally when it does this I will just play with the throttle until it gets warmed up and after it warms up it will stop trying to die. The first time it happened to me I was late for work and I was not in a good mood I put it in drive and floored it lol by the time I got to my first red light it wasn't trying to die anymore so once I get it going it won't try to die anymore I really don't want to replace the mass air flow sensor because it's $150 so if anyone else has had this problem and figured it out 100% please let me know it hasn't died on me all week it's crunk up no problem it seems like it always wants to act up when I'm running late for work 🤦🏻‍♂️

Try checking for a vacuum leak checking hoses for cracks and spraying carburetor cleaner at different places looking for the idle to change.

My wheel bearings in my versa went 220,000 miles and I started hearing rubbing on one side so I changed them both never heard of bearingslasting that long
