First I'd like to say thank you for sharing. I bought my 2003 Rincon new in August of 2002. It was still under warranty when my cam decompressor failed. I shut the engine down and was talking and looking around, there was about 8 inches of snow on the ground in the mountain. It was awesome riding in the snow. I turned the key on and hit the starter button and it acted like the battery was half dead! So I grabbed the pull cord and gave it a tug, it pulled right out of my hand! At that point I knew something was wrong. I pull the recoil cord slowly and released some compression, gave it a good pull and she started right up. I took it to Honda, they replaced the camshaft and challenged me on what type of oil I was using! I told them I use Mobil 1 10W40 XT motor oil. They tried to get from under their warranty. So they did a leak down compression test. The technician said it passed with flying colors! I change my oil and filter between 40 and 80 hours, depending what type of riding I do. If I went to the Hatfield McCoy trails for a few days, I changed the oil if I had 30 hours on the last oil change. If I just use it for hunting, or just riding nice and easy with my wife, I go a little longer on the oil change. I am anal when it comes to oil changes, my Brother use to use the oil I drained in his car that's how clean it looked when I drained it. Thank you again for sharing, I did subscribe . Thank you guys. I feel your video was very well explained and understood as far as I was concerned. When you talked about the cam followers, sorry to say it. The valves were never adjusted, and the oil was probably changed when the owner felt like it. If one is not using good quality oil, and doesn’t change the oil within a reasonable amount of hours, that’s what happens. You have catastrophic failures!

Another thing I'd like to share with you guys and whoever else follows your pod casts. I have never shut my gas off and run the carburetor dry, I have always used STP Gas Treatment before I bought my Rincon. I know it sounds crazy, I put a whole bottle in the Rincon, and a whole bottle in my 5 gallon jug when I fill that up. I've always used 91 to 93 Octane, never 89 or 87 Octane. I also found a fuel filter that looks like Honda put in the fuel line. It is a NAPA Gold Fuel Filter #3027. I've been around the Fords, and Ford Mustangs since forever and never forgot the fuel filters they used. Ford used this 3027 Filter. I put mine in-between the gas tank and carburetor right along side the frame. It's an all metal filter just under 3/4 of an inch in circumference about an inch and 3/4 of an inch long. Well I slid my filter inside a short piece of 3/4" heater hose, the two hose connections stick out each end.It's looks perfect! I never had to disassemble my carburetor because of dirt, water, or varnish. I tried to always start the engine every 3 to 4 months when I first moved to Virginia Beach, VA. I also put a Lithium Ion battery in the Rincon, 500 CCA's. It turns the engine like I'm using a car battery. There's no place to ride here! We live in a condo, we're both retired. One day I said the heck with this! We live in a 55 and older community, I took the Rincon out of the garage, put on a half helmet and rode the community grass, and roads nice and slow and many folks waved and smiled. I was happy and once about every 6 weeks, I take the Rincon out with the wife and enjoy our selves. I hope I have helped some folks with my methods of taking care of my ride. Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have worked on the big trucks, trailers, transportation reefers, construction equipment, motorcycles, and 4 wheelers. I built an engine, and transmission for my sons DS 650 Can Am, Bombardier. I even built the transmission in my 2009 Street Glide FLHX Harley Davidson. Would you say I need to replace the oil pump chain/sprocket? Or does it matter

Is there a way to put the push rods in? And the cam follower in?

So, are there timing marks on the bottom of the case, or is it just lining up the notch on the cam to the cylinder head?

Where did you get the puller and what’s the size of it?

Iv just stripped mine down to do the oil pump chain. Should here be movement in the sprocket and the oil pump shaft?

Is this still an issue with the 2019's? Or have they changed things since 2009? Have you heard of any issues with the 2019's? Thanks.
