that Blue tube you found is Yamaha PT# 695150 Drug ingestion tube goes between riders nostril and the Yamaha snorting surface !!

Check the clutch boss for rattle. When you do the Oil in this bike fill to the top line they have an issue with oil pressure if you do the low fill line. Check the neutral and kickstand switch. Make sure the injectors are clean. I’ve had a couple 04-06 R1’s

This bike likes to party! I do like the Yamaha Blue, in fact, I’d have trouble changing its look, but I trust your judgement in taste. Bummer about the fuel leak. It’s a little unnerving when you can’t start it right away. You hate to do all the work while having that nagging sense that you don’t know what lurks inside the crankcase and the best you can do is hope that it’s fine.

I'm rebuilding my 05 r1 right now, the alloy tab that the front stay mounts to is broken off and needs wielding, other than that its all replaceable stuff easily sourced. good vid, gives me motivation to hurry up and order my parts

My gut feeling is that the black box is indeed something to modify the bikes fueling and maybe the ignition, same as the Powercommanders do. Those two chips in it are programmable. If you unplug it completely and stick the two connectors at the front together it should run fine off the bikes own ECU.

Love the 04-05 R1's. My friend had one years ago, it was the first 1000cc bike I ever rode. I always thought it was kinda cool that they have the 20 valve head based off the old Genesis engine. The combustion chamber looks wild with 5 valves per cylinder, plus they sound better in my opinion 🎶

@@hewasdeadwhenigotthere46 it looks better and more refined, more mordern and now timeless looking, the curves where the side intakes curves up, the side fairings are more of a 08 r6 style, instead of that old 04-06 side vent 😄 just have a look at it. And in real life it looks like it just got released recently, well not long ago. I do agree they look almost the same but this update/gen looks better. The front is sexy. And sides. Thanks.

Hey man, I got the same R1 who had the exact same damage on the left side (bottom engine part), just want to let you know that I had a small leak comming from the hole with the little ball in it. Impossible to change this tinny ball, had to put some epoxy on it to minimize the leak, seems to do the job, if you can put some weld on it it's even better ;) Loving your series, waiting to see more on this one, mainly the swinging arm swap since I need to do it too !

I think the balck box might be a Gizzmo for the brakelights - so the brakelights activates when you decellerate without touching the brakes (motor-brake) - I've got one on my Hog. If you turn one side up. The light turns on. If you turn the other side upwards. The light flashes... Very good for xtra safety on the rd.

Rob, awesome videos, I know you like to use the Gunk cleaner, I would buy a spray bar and 5 gallons of kerosene. Get the majority of the cleaning with the kerosene and touch up with the Gunk. Much cheaper. Thanks

That mystery box is a primitive speedo healer or maybe a homeade speed healer. It's plugged right into the speed sensor of the wiring harness.

pretty sure one of those triangle plugs is a speed sensor, likely a speedo healer. Is it on standard sprockets(17/45)? that will be the giveaway. I have the same bike in same colours. finished a full frame and engine rebuild last year. absolutely love the bike now with ktech suspension and a fresh engine with race headers :)

my concours is in need of a tune up, valve ticks and maybe a slight knock. i think it needs bearings but what do you think about even doing that kind of job in general? do you avoid any engine fixes?

That straw is initially used in factory foods packaging, it's used for holding plastic bags on a stand. these plastic bags will likely be used to package bulks of food in crates, but ofcourse it can also serve other purposes. it usually is a pair of straws that carry about 100 bags.

Hi there, thanks for the videos. I wanted to ask a question. I was looking at some bikes on EBay and Autotrader and some of the older bikes are real bargains. The only thing is some of them have very high mileages. I was very interested in a Kawasaki ZX-6R 1995, except the mileage was over 50 000+. I did try to look for a newer engine, and only found old used items. Is it possible to put a new motor from a more current year, that would fit on the frame, also is it really worth it. This goes for other bikes. Any reply would be great.

Haha. The blue thing is one half of a tampon applicator! People use them to sniff blow. People use them for the flared end.

black box might be some sort of dealer lojack or gps. in case you dont make your payments they can find it and repo it. my bike had it and so did my truck, looked kinda like that and i asked it i could keep it for reasons. it was only 30 bucks so im sure if there cheap the have a few different styles

That black box is ECU, seal it well and plug it back, othervise you will never turn that bike on. 😁

tbh i would say the pipe is used to smoke that blunt right down.... but i'm thinking more of a crack pipe tbh, good find on the blunt tho lol must of been his last good stuff as he didn't finish it lool, and good job on the rebuild can't beat a good r1 :)

I bought a used Honda shadow aero 750 from a dealership and there was a pipe and weed in my saddlebag . I'm glad I didn't get pulled over on my way home . I'll never buy another bike without searching the entire thing before I take it home .

This is what baffles me. A perfectly good bike, the owner probably loved it, and it was all gone by trying to do a wheelie. After the crash and the whole day probably he had to be thinking "why did i do that, dam" I know because it happened, I leaned too much on a corner and it slipped, and then you get yourself thinking why... why did you had to risk it...

If the gauge cluster is changed and the mileage is now different you need to disclose that when registering the bike

I'm guessing it wasn't a salvaged title due to no insurance. Good job repairing it, but bikes like this on the used market are why I only buy new bikes, or clean 1 owner bikes from slightly older owners. This bike probably tumbled hard. Geometry could be off, or could be hidden stress cracks in the frame.
