I did consider getting this remapped too, just for a little extra power and MPG, people just don't seem to realize how funky these cars are IMO - and super relaible, amazing build quality too, KIA even give a 7 Year (100.000 Mile) warranty on them new, so what's not to like? but I think the stigma of owning a KIA is putting the uneducated off buying them ;)

The big downside of the 2.0 engines is they are cam belt, and the 1.6 is a chain, plus I believe the 2.0 uses DMF which can be costly, from what I have heard there is little power difference in the real world between the 2 engines, so for me I think the 1.6 is the better choice. @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes 2.0 is definitely faster but not by much. It's the same engine in the chevi Cruze and one single cam as well. There is potential for things to go wrong with all the extras but never had an issue. Reminded me of the old river L series tbh

I kind of covered my thoughts on the car didn't I? I would have another One without hesitation, looks great, amazing value for money, great comfort level, switch gear is inline with BMW/Audi, and very good on fuel, what's not to like :)

Budget Bucket List Cars And Bikes Al thought these features are just not in need of course. When I bought the car I got an option to choose: No 3D Touch No sunglasses holder and do calls For 1000 And as a dumb mistake I did pay more for it

ALL Cars have "Common Problems" but the Kia has no more than any other car really, the clutch master cylinder is the only issue I know of, and that's a simple cheap fix. Generally a great little car in my opinion

Hi Lee I did use a dedicated product suggested on-line, horrible stuff that really sticks! and wasn't cheap, but it didn't actually improve anything (Millers i think it was called) I also went on a long and hard drive (also suggested for cleaning out the system) but again nothing changed, as for the DPF - I don't think the Kai Pro Cee'd even has One? that was One of the positive things about it lol (but I could be wrong)

It's not bad for a stock sound system, but I would normally replace it with a touchscreen Android or Apple Play system :)

Thanks for the suggestion, An yes I think you can use a child seat without too much hassle in the 3 door, it has the ISOFIX if I remember so perfect for that. It depends on if having to pull seats forward all the time is going to get frustrating for you I guess? Thanks for your comment :)

@@luc.tazmin.95 That's One of the reasons I love the Seat Leon, it looks like a 3 door, but has 5 doors for practicality :)

They are pretty reliable as long as they have been serviced correctly 🙂

I wondered the same thing, but I think the USB socket is simply for charging things, like phones, or perhaps SatNav? As when I plugged in my stick, nothing happened ;)

If I remember correctly, the car was £1800 as it needed some paintwork on the rear wing which had a bad scratch, and it was just over 100k Miles :)

@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes wow amazing deal! guess cars are cheaper where you from. I bought astra h gtc last week for 2500 euros and 180000 km. Not bad car but this Kia Ceed has great engine. Kias in this condition would be here about 5300 euros

Some cars reset the fuel consumption meter after every trip yes, I'm not sure if you can change that in the settings?

@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes okay so this is like normal for this model I see.. my friend got next model ceed it keeping the meter same until u reset by itself.. well in this car u cannot change nothing just time settings and sound treble middle and bass..but I think Im gonna keep this for a while its quite cheap to keep!

@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes well got only old mercedes 's last 8 years .. w210 eclass.. yes its big and comfortable but when on speedometr is over 500k u just dont know what place gonna brake next and big problem.. e class is like aircraft carrier big onea nd because Im 193cm tall it feels in kia that Im sitting in kinder egg 😀 but I see these 1.6 crdi engines can do like 300-400tkm so no worries abot that one..

Hi Martin I simply decided I didn't like Diesel cars, no other reason at all, I would have a Petrol version tomorrow! as these in my opinion are great cars for the money :)

Seems like a good deal to me I ended up selling my 2010 1.6 Diesel for just over £2000 with 106.500 Miles, but it was in amazing condition, so I think £1500 for an 09 with low Miles is a fair deal :)

Budget Bucket List Cars And Bikes yeah i think I'll go for it, I was in a bit of a dilemma as I found a c4 with 49 k 1 owner full service history for 1795. Sounds good, but when I researched apparently they have electrical and engine faults left right and centre and high maintenance costs to keep in going. I think I'd gamble on the more miles, older kia. Thanks for getting back to me.

One thing I would check, is the electric windows, as that's the only issue I had with mine, the drivers side was getting stuck quite often, then the passenger side started playing up too, so make sure they all work, good luck with it :)

The lower the better, but as long as it's got good service history, and things are maintained, a high mileage Diesel Kia should last the same as any other manufacturer

Anything over 100.000 Miles and I personally want to see evidence of a clutch change, and recent timing belt (unless it's a chain) but TBH I think anything over say 130.000 Miles I would like to see the timing chain changed too! it's just too much of a risk, unless the car is throwaway money? Trouble with high Miles cars is things tend to need changing after 100.000 Miles, so your looking at Suspension Components, Steering, Drive Shafts, Turbo's, Exhausts, Head Gaskets, etc etc, as long as it has very good history, and you can get a good inspection of the car (maybe even pay for an independent inspection done) then higher Miles cars can be a real bargain, just check for the obvious things, and if possible always view the car cold, if the car is warm when you get there, then the seller may be trying to hide rattles in the engine, or even smoking on start up. Also check all the previous MOT's on-line, this can show up all sorts of things which may not be obvious, and will have been highlighted on the inspection, if there is anything there as an advisory ask if it have been sorted (and double check the Mileage on the MOT certificate as far back as you can)
