Worked like a charm. It wasn't anything I have ever done. I built many systems as PCs or refurbished Windows laptops. My advice: be very careful and get the right tools. Use plastic pliers when messing with the cables. Take your time. Thank you for the tutorial.

What thermal paste should I buy? Any reccos that I can purchases from Amazon?
@kkaarriimm

I changed the thermal paste & still heats up to 79-101 when using safari for emails. What could the issue be? I've also cleaned the dust of every part of the internals. any suggestions?

Thanks for the great video man! I never changed the thermal paste in 8 years!!! Do you think it could significantly cool down by applying a new set of paste?
@GRIBSOFT
@GRIBSOFT 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, also just opening it up and cleaning the dust from the fans will cool it by several degrees.

Wonderful tutorial thanks a lot! But I have a question? Why do you replace the heat sink? I guess applying new thermal paste would do as well. What was the problem with the heat sink itself?

They can stop transferring heat correctly.

@@GRIBSOFT I am confused. Did you replace the heat sink? If you did, why clean off the old paste on the original heat sink? The way the video looks, you cleaned off the old heat sink and the GPU/CPU dies and put it back together again (yes/no)? How do we know if the heat sink was good or bad? Is there a way to tell or is it better to just replace the darn thing?

I did this today on my 2011 15 inch.... I had a GPU issue and I'm pretty sure this fixed it but all of a sudden my screen isnt working. I have double and triple checked my connections so I'm not sure what's wrong at this point. Any help would be amazing.

Don't use gas. Use either just a paper towel or paper towel and some rubbing alcohol.

Dude, after I finished the whole process, my Macbook wouldn’t turn on until I plugged my charger and it showed only the 100% green light on 83% of charge. And after it turned on, on direct power, the keyboard stopped working! Please tell me what do I do?

...and my 2010 MBP gets another blast of fresh energy or should I say air? (Fan? Get it?) Jesus I remember a lecturer saying back in 2010 that I should get a few years out of a Macbook Pro but going on eleven years that's quite impressive. Will the new M1 last this long? Why wouldn't it I suppose. And it's not over yet. There might be another five years in the old girl. The 8GB limit of RAM is disappointing though. Pity there wasn't some way of being able to add 16GB. Ah well. I guess I'm pushing it.
