Good, I like the idea that they give you a CD, thanks for including that. I'll never see one of these where I live (much closer to Germany) but I'm sure in California they have them as a kind of post ironic homage to what the buyers' parents had 'way back', hence the music.

I really love this car!!! It's definitely gonna be my next car. Right now I drive a 2007 Scion tC...but the GLI has more hp and torque. I prefer the base GLI with DSG transmission. I don't need the Fender sound system or the 18" wheels. All I need is a turbocharged engine with good gas mileage.

VW's are nice as long as they last. Our 2004 Jetta tdi lasted 90,000 miles before the transmission started to go. Contrast that to the 1991 Civic we had that started having transmission trouble at around 225,000 miles.

I remember testing the Fender audio system last year at the Chicago Auto Show and they kept playing that Black Keys song which became annoying but I got a free T-shirt and the car was actually nice.

very good review. i would actually consider this car if i were in the market for this class. with a $600 ecu remap from APR you'd be getting around 260hp with no loss in fuel economy. the only problem is that i so heavily associate this with the standard jetta which i despise

Good, general review. Not to be a stickler for details, but it's red calipers, not red discs. Elizabeth is fun to watch for sure. Car is great package for the coin. Aftermarket can easily tweak anything on the car if you'd like.

If that would not make me move, probably the tornado would not make that either. Jeesh - she makes me want to hear her words more than take my next breath ;) Thats a keeper Roadfly !!!

I think there is massive improvements from the 06. The base GLI is a fantastic deal especially with year end clearances. I owned a 2006 for 3 years and had a lot less problems then my 2000 Jetta. So I think they just get better and better. Maybe trial by error? lol This is my first GLI model though. I didn't want the 2.5 engine. A little too slow, so the base GLI is a good choice. Good luck! :)

I think the GLI should come with xenon headlights, and i hope they put the interior updates in all the Jetta trim levels, not just the GLI, great review!!

I'm a loyal VW owner. I've owned my souped up Civic and Accord in my 20's. I didn't pay anywhere near $29k for mine, and I bought it for the 4 doors for my family car. The V6 Accord Coupe is a good looking car though. We have a 2012 Camaro too, so we didn't want 2 coupes.

You mentioned you had a hard time seeing out the back. Does that mean there's no back up camera integrated into the nav?

Elizabeth is so pleasant to listen and watch. If it's Ross, I know I'm gonna get a cool dude's perspective. If it's Emme, I know I'm in for some offbeat and beloved humor, as well as an awesome outfit. But Elizabeth just...she's so soothing lol. That's the most soothing car review I've ever watched haha. I like her :)

GLI is tempting, but almost the same price as a CC. She is pretty good and reviews. First time I saw a video with her.

i walked away from VW after my 2005 GLI, but VW seems to have stepped up their game. that looks to be a solid car. that said, after only watching this review once i'm already a BIG fan of Elizabeth. don't tell Jessi Lang though!

@minibus1351 You're right once you think of it. I don't think the wheels would support Brembo brakes; usually they're in the larger vehicles like the SRT8 Chryslers, Buick Regal GS, and mainly higher end sports cars. I'm with you.

Very nice loved the bodywork on it and the car aswell LOL p.s the car didn't have red disc brakes it had red calipers ;-) but I must say a very nice looking car
