That is an excellent point. I worked at a starter rebuilder for several years and we coated all our connectors with regular wheel bearing grease because at the time the electric grease wasn't popular. It's true you probably will get a better connection without it between the two surfaces, but it does not take much pressure to overcome that issue. I'm sure. The torque I put on the screw definitely scraped away enough of The dielectric grease to not make much of an electrical issue. I just hope it does what it's supposed to and prevent corrosion from creeping until the connection. Putting it directly on the connection is the best way for that to happen. It is having shifting problems again as well. It also has a bad battery. I keep telling myself to get a new battery and keep forgetting to do it until I drive the car again. I will be revisiting this problem after the new battery. Thanks for watching.

To remove the battery you have to remove that ground cable. When you do get it disconnected clean it up really well. I found mine ran much better after I replaced the battery.

I do not have a Carb! The one I have has problems with the chock. It is in bad shape. @@JamitinThereRepair Hey there, Thanks for getting back to me on this. If you end up switching out the engine, i would gladly take the old carb off your hands. I am trying to find a replacement carb, according to what i found online, its supposed to run off a VM17SC carb. The RV90's (the suzuki's answer to the CT70), have a similar carb and fairly cheap to find on amazon. I am currently trying to use that as a replacement, however its not working for what ever reason. I also ordered a VM18 Moped carb and hope that will fit, but it does not come till next week. @@kidinback2040 I am not sure there's enough room to squeeze that Honda clone engine into this Suzuki. I'm going to have to do some serious measurements. I watched your video. I'm wondering if you checked the cylinder compression? Have you ever had this engine running? I was thinking of getting the same carburetor you are trying.

@@JamitinThereRepair thanks so much for the response. My compression tester is coming in the mail today, so i will have that tested in a few hours. I have never had it running, because it came basically dis- assembled when I received it. This is the latest i have gotten out of it, and that is just a few pops at its best. I have also been adjusting the timing on it. Also some quick question for you, according to the manual you are supposed to run 20:1 ratio on it, is that true? seems very thick. Seconldy, what is the timing BTDC that you are running? I have seen it reported at both 20 degrees and 27 degrees. THat is a big variance, so any advice would be recommended.

@@JamitinThereRepair OK, so i got the bike running today. You were right, it was a compression issue. I was able to use another cylinder, and that thing fired right up. NOW, also in other good news, i got it to idle with a RV90 carb with an 85 jet. You can buy them on Amazon Prime and return it if you dont get the same result.

I am getting a new battery today for it. I will do that and see if it helps the shifting. Yes the problem returned but not as bad. I thinks it's just a bad battery. Thanks for the help! Thanks for watching.
