This would be a great addition. I wonder if you can do that with the gas version. We would like them for our deweze beds because it can be too much to run the pump at idle

You can use your cruise control to put your truck into high idle. Same as a semi.

I’ve had some trucks go into high idle automatically
@camrenboudreaux4822 жыл бұрын
How do you do it?
@CallMeColtLLC8 жыл бұрын
How did you wire that relay so there is no need to actually engage the parking brake? I can't seem to find anything on it exept your video here.
@jonny728888 жыл бұрын
When you flip the switch it turns the relay on which grounds the parking brake system so it thinks it is engaged.

+jonathan leal Thanks for the quick reply. I did some searching on relays & might have answered my own question. So, the relay taps into the small wire that is connected to the parking brake? I went out at looked quickly.... it looks like a white/red wire.
@jonny728888 жыл бұрын
***** I used the wire that is in the bundle with the pto wires. Labeled brake. I forget the color. It just tells the computer that the brake is on.

+jonathan leal Okay, thanks. I have the body builders electrical diagram. Should be able to go off that.

why would u ever want to have the truck in high idle? just curious
@HASSON4548 жыл бұрын
faster warm up times, higher oil pressure, heat retension and more efficient running.

For high accessory demand, like running a winch or a PTO driven hydraulic pump

Standard stuff on Fire Department trucks for running our equipment on the truck when we are parked so we don't run the batteries out and for hydraulics or water pumps.

pointless
@justinwaite263 жыл бұрын
You clearly dont live in a climate that gets cold...by the way these trucks automatically high idle...this allows you to manually do it
@gabrieltelles5717 жыл бұрын
seems like pointless work.

How long does it take your diesel to warm up where you are?
@gabrieltelles5717 жыл бұрын
+jonathan leal we runs ours for about 5 min. I see what you mean now. I reckon it depends on the weather.
@jonny728887 жыл бұрын
+Gabriel Telles yea, it also helps the egr not clog up when idling for a while

+jonathan leal there's always the delete option lol
@jonny728887 жыл бұрын
+Gabriel Telles I'd like to do a egr/Def delete but the pesky epa has been shutting down tuners. Not to mention I'm in a state that does diesel emissions testing so I would have to reinstall the exhaust every year to get a sticker
