2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty Platinum Crew Cab Truck Test Drive Video Review

Prices start at $32,535 for the base model and can go all the way up to $62,310 for the fully loaded model. Up front is a new grille, headlights, and “C” style LED daytime running lights. The model seen here is the Platinum trim which carries with it lots of chrome accents all around and has a price of $62,110.
The crew cab model has automatic running boards to make it easy to get into this large truck. The optional Tough Bed Spray-In Bedliner goes for $495. There is also pre-drilled 5th wheel towing for goose-neck trailers with a max tow capacity of 32,500 lbs. Under the hood is a 6.7 liter turbo diesel V-8 engine that makes 440 horsepower and 920 lb-ft. of torque. Towing capacity and payload are best-in-class. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic.

My father just got one, it’s a black one, I love it a lot, it rides really smoothly, and there are heated rear seats too, that’s really good for my back, due to cerebral palsy I have a lot of pain in my back and my neck and my hands as well

what a great looking truck.......i know that FORD puts a lot of effort in those trucks, but if I'm paying $60K + i really expect the truck to really work and not have major issues.

I just got one like this but in silver with black interior. I don't haul anything; it's just a daily commuter. I love the dual pane moonroof. Fricken awesome!!!!

Congrats on your truck! I have ordered me a Ruby Red F450 Platinum and I have been waiting on for about 5 weeks now. It won't be a commuter truck for me. I currently tow a 10,000 lbs trailer that stays on all week long. I will take if off on weekends so I can enjoy it cruising around or maybe a long trip a time or two.. Are you still enjoying your truck?

I bought this same truck in a lower trim and in gas for $41,000. It still has power windows and door locks, though. I hate chrome on trucks and my truck has none. I am adding a black grille guard anyways, and the front end will look better all black. My wheels are painted steel too. If you are going to use your truck for what it was intended for, reconsider all that extra shit they try to convince you to get. Chrome is a pain to keep clean, especially on wheels. Diesel is not necessary unless towing. The basic HD Vinyl seats are actually quite rugged and comfortable. The base model interior is actually more luxurious than what luxury cars were in the 1990's. It is mainly plastic which is a good thing because that means it is easier to maintain and cheaper to replace if broken.

trying to figure out why some super duties don't have the cab clearance lights on top. I thought it was because the sunroof left no room on top but clearly not.

they are optional. my dad's has the sunroof and the cab lights, mine just has the sunroof.

itsalltaken666 More room than both not including the mega cab ram makes. The speedometer and tachometer are not digital. Everything else is.

6.01 as someone who drove F350 / 450 for a number of years installing dock levellers Ford has got it right with regards the high level bed camera. If your concerned about your strapped down load, do all motorists a favour and pullover, stop and check - not drive down the freeway at speed looking at a monitor. Good safety call by FoMoCo.

Draydster12321 As much as I like these truck reviews, I swear these guys have never driven a work truck for a full week of shifts. They drone on about "soft touch" lower door panels and coffee cup holders. In the real world your glad if the truck starts when it's negative 20 degrees outside and you just want to get home.

I rarely get impulse to purchase anything. I am a penny pincher. I even contemplated selling my wife's luxury suv for a 2nd PRIUS. That's right a PRIUS. 2 kiddo's and 2 car seats later, we need an SUV with room , but why spend $45-$50k on a 4Runner when I can get this tank. The 3rd row on the 4Runner is useless tbh. I don't think I resist this truck for too much. Great review

You should say pounds of torque or foot pounds of torque. There is no such thing as "pound feet" although the notation is say 500 lbs. - ft. as opposed to lbs. - in. which are inch pounds. You wouldn't say pound inches, right?

EVIL Co. A pilot truck drives in front of semi trucks that carrie large loads all semi's with a over sized load have a pilot truck to get them from point a to point b most loads have one truck in the front who makes sure that the route is clear for the large load to get by

A 4WD F-250 XL FX4 Crew Cab costs nearly $45K here in West Texas, mind you that's just an XL with the 6.2 V-8. It's still very expensive.

I like the looks of this truck BUT with an exception, those gadgets are more than going to be a headache when they start failing and yeah you'll really have to be OCD on truck like this. I drive a near bare bones heavy duty with 4WD and some modern amenities BUT not over the top techno truck.

my dad has had a completely decked out 2014 f-350 for a few years now, and it pretty much has everything the truck in this video has (except the massaging seats and it only came with 1 backup camera) and everything works fine, all the plugins work, navigation system, backup camera and sensor cooled and heated seats front and rear and everything else. we havent had a single problem with it, so i dont know what you are talking about when you said "those gadgets are going to be a headache when they start failing".

They more than likely will go out after 10-15 years of use. But people who buy a loaded truck like this usually won't hold onto them, and will have 3 or 4 newer trucks within that time. For the average buyer though, get one without all the bells and whistles and you should be good to go.

You cannot legally put 4 people in the back seat. There are only 3 seat belts. So its a 5 passenger truck. Some trucks have a bench seat up front so you can seat 6 passengers. But not the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty Platinum Crew Cab

Most people do want it. It's more durable than regular paint, and looks better most of the time. It's only the younger people that like to body color or black out everything, I'm not one of those people.

Tracy Lloyd Toyota puts out a great reliable truck, that's important to me considering how much fords cost nowadays. It's an investment, and when my buddy has a 05 f150 with that dumpster fire triton v8 that is constantly in the shop, it makes me eerie of paying such high sticker prices. Now did I come off strong saying there a joke, probably, but when I see first had a member in my family pay over 76,000 dollars on a truck and it's already in the shop. Makes me think it's not as reliable as ford likes to say.

Every auto manufacturer is prone to horror stories of failures / issues. I had a Dodge once that I almost ripped the hitch through the frame. Steel was very soft and I wasn't overloading it either. I went with Ford next with the 99 w/7.3 diesel and was very happy. Chevy and GM stuck with their old interiors so long with cheesy buttons or dials that I stopped looking at them. Plus square wheel wells not crazy about. Toyota trucks to me aren't industrial enough either. I am going Ford again and ordered a 2017 F450 Platinum. Gonna be sweet. will it be perfect - maybe not but I am loving their new design. was a much needed change.
