@@driftke70 It's nice hearing long term reviews from actual owners, so I appreciate you sharing. One guy said he had to shim a valve after 1900 miles and 100 hours of use. How many miles/hours have you put on it so far?.. And not that it's a huge deal, but have you had to shim the valves yet?

i got the 2010 one and its been junk from day 1!, oil punking in the air box from the first day of of the showroom floor , dealer refused to help me out ..... multiple leak down tests later and the engine is good , no one can figure it out the oil in the airbox issue , mine has also the full yoshi chery bomb kit .... 3 pulls down the road from 1 to 5th at WOT i filled up a gatorade bottle of oil!

@@yamguy33 Make sure you're not over filling the engine with oil. I had the same problem with my Brute Force 750 and it was all because the oil level was too high. Come to find out, the oil level was only suppose to go half way between the full make and low mark on the dip stick. Seems its a common problem with the Brute Force because everyone is adding catch cans to theirs lol. I simply corrected the oil level and never had the problem again. Had I not done the research, I most likely would've wasted money on a stupid catch can like most others have done. Not saying this is for sure your problem, I obviously cannot guarantee that, however it's definitely something to look into if you haven't already figured it out.

@@markalan4026 i did multiple test as low as 800ml of oil just to see and still puked oil , as of now i run yamalube 10 40 conventional oil and it seems to be not doing it anymore , seems like my bike did not like the maxima racing oil synthetic stuff.....

haha- no we turn them over every 2-3 seasons, my current rmx will be 2years old in march and has not missed a beat, its replacement is sitting in the shed already as they had a good deal on year 17 models.

@@MrNismopro Yes, you can go aftermarket and go vertex or JD Jetting. Stock is locked because of the 2010 epa fiasco. Fi tuners exist.

They were solid motorcycles and if you put a JD tuner on and removed the restrictions they performed admirably. They're a bit heavy but handle well and are reliable. You can pick them up pretty cheap with low hours

It certainly doesn't get much love. Which is a shame, because it is an excellent bike for an average non-racer. I'm on my fifth season with my RMX. It's been a fantastic machine.

@Sinister Veritas I had to ditch my exhaust, open up the airbox, and remove the throttle stop on my '90 and '95 RMX250s also. Also switched to a RM head gasket, added fly wheel weight, and changed the jetting. Didn't everyone? I guess DB can't be bothered or sued not sure which?

I'm glad that everyone talks smack about Suzuki. It keeps they're prices low. For the average rider the Suzuki is a killer bargain. I'll take a Suzuki any day of the week!

ramzerg believe it or not the drz is more powerful. The rmx has a large throttle limiter and only produces 19 hp compared to the drz which is at 33

if it is anything like Kawasaki did with the infernal KLX450R... you'll have terrible service intervals and an exact copy of the race bike service schedule. KLX450R is gone for a reason. 39 HP and the same service interval.

Suzuki will most likely drop out of the USA markets - KTM/Husqvarna WAY better quality and bikes!

@Sinister Veritas Suzuki is done - this shutdown most likely will tip them over. Unless they make bikes like that will sell I doubt that. Yamaha/Honda/Kawi will be in trouble to.

I'm on my third year with my RMX. Quality? Haven't had any problems. I enjoy it's mellow power delivery and excellent torque. Great bike. By the way, don't take it personally, but you sound like a dope.
